“N-no?”

“Are you asking or telling?”

“Um.” I pressed my finger to my lip. “Telling?”

He pulled my finger from my lip. “Still asking.” He kissed me, pulling my hips up against his, telling me that his earlier orgasm was just the opening act.

“Now. Now. None of that or we’ll never get back to the party and people will come looking for us,” T.J. said from the door.

“An audience? That could be kinky.”

I smacked Brice’s chest. “Not on your life.”

He laughed and lifted an arm, allowing me to slide out and walk into T.J.’s open arms.

“Let’s go put in the rounds and then we can head back to our cabin.”

Both halves of his statement concerned me, reminding me that I never truly answered Brice. What did it matter if everyone saw the physical results of our relationship? Was I worried about people knowing that I was with them? I didn’t think so. I wanted to be claimed by them. I wanted women the world over to know that they were no longer on the market. So what was the hesitation and concern for?

As we walked across the driveway to where all the partygoers were, I met my mother’s gaze. She looked down at where T.J. held my hand before sliding across Brice’s arm that was wrapped around my shoulders. And that was why I didn’t want everyone to know. I really didn’t want to deal with my mother’s tirade in front of an audience.

But when I saw who she stood with, I knew I needed to take a stand.

“Everyone ready for some unpleasantness?”

“What do you mean?” Aaron asked.

“Becca’s mom.”

“Huh?” Brice’s hand squeezed my shoulder. “I thought you said that your parents were wonderful people.”

“They are. It’s just that my mom had a definitive idea of the type of guy that I’m supposed to be with.”

“And a professional athlete doesn’t make the list,” T.J. added.

“But it makes mine.” I gave them all a smile that conveyed my love for them. “Let’s go meet the parents.”

A mixture of groans met my ears, but the guys stayed right beside me as we walked the last few steps.

“T.J.,” my mother said as she held out her hand. “It’s nice to see you again. I saw that your team lost last night…”

I felt both T.J. and Brice vibrate with suppressed laughter. I didn’t need to look at Aaron to know that he probably felt the same way.

“Mom. Dr. Muir. I’d like you to meet T.J.’s teammates, friends, and also —I took a deep breath—“my boyfriends, Brice Owens and Aaron Peterson.”

Mom’s eyes became the size of the harvest full moon, and her skin colour matched. While she attempted to put herself back together and absorb what I said, Dr. Muir held out his hand shaking theirs. “It’s nice to meet all of you. I’m glad to meet the men who are dating Becca.” He gave me a wink and mouthed, “They’re suitable to me.”

I snorted, drawing my mom’s attention.

“Is it just Brice and Aaron or…” She glanced down at my entwined fingers with T.J.

“It’s all three.”

She swallowed. “And you’re happy?”

I nodded.

She gave me a big smile. “Then I’m happy and excited for you. You’ll all have to come over for supper to meet the rest of the family.”
