Our lips connected and I lifted her into my arms. Around us, I could hear the whoops and cheers of the crowd. My life finally clicked into place as I stood there in the moment, holding the woman who had truly made me want to dive off the edge. As long as we were together, we could face anything.

About the Author

Rosie is Scottish born and bred, still living in Scotland with her husband. Reading and books had always been a part of Rosie's life. As a child she would often say she wanted to be an author (or a dog) when she grew up.

As an adult, writing didn't feature highly due to university commitments. Upon graduating university, ideas bombarded her mind and one day decided to sit down and write one.

Her other hobbies include baking, reading and watching films. Marvel is her favourite thing to watch while writing.

Chapter 1

Ashley

Drip, our campus coffee shop, is especially crowded for a Wednesday afternoon. This is usually my quiet place. I come in every afternoon and sit at my favorite corner table. Ian, my favorite barista, makes me a steaming mocha latte. The counter is always busy, but few people stick around after they’ve gotten their caffeine fix. They’re either off to class or heading next door to the library to study. Not me. I like the low din of conversation and the intoxicating smell of java as I work.

But today, the place is crawling with Bainbridge students and faculty. That’s probably because, as of a few short hours ago, Thanksgiving break has officially started. It seems just about everyone is here to fill up on coffee and snacks before hitting the road.

Me? I’m here to study. Being a nursing major means tons of hours with my nose in a book. It also means countless hours doing clinicals at the hospital and sitting in lecture halls. But soon-- one semester and change--all the hours (and the tears) will have paid off when I land my dream job in a NICU taking care of the littlest babies who need the most help.

But I’m not making it to the NICU without acing my finals, which means I need to focus. That’s hard to do when all of my attention is directed at my phone and the hot hunk of hotness who keeps messaging me.

Well, I think he’s hot.

I’m almost sure of it.
