“No, I think you should share it, Moore.” Ivy joined the girls’ team. “You see, as a doctor—”

“Nice try!” I shook my head. “Don’t even try.” I laughed. “Remember, I know where you sleep.”

“I suppose that’s true.” She raised a sexy eyebrow.

“All right,” Mike stood next to Moore, “I’m beat, and bed is calling.” He turned to leave but then faced Moore. “Oh, and ah,” he placed a hand on his shoulder, “suck it, sucker. You’re it.”

Moore looked around as everyone scattered in all directions.

“What the fuck does that mean?”

I woke with a jerk to find my body wrapped around Ivy’s. Her flowery shampoo filled my senses, and I felt instantly needy. I positioned our naked bodies just right and slipped between her legs, taking her from behind. I was granted a throaty moan.

“This is my favorite place,” I ran kisses along her shoulder, “so warm and snug.”

“I’m surprised you can still fit after how many times we did it last night. I was filled to the brim.” She wiggled her hips, wanting more friction.

“Just leaving my mark.” I thrust a few times and felt my skin break out in goosebumps. “You’re the most beautiful woman I’ve ever met. I see how many men turn their heads when you’re around.”

“I turn for one.” She pulled my hand from her hip and kissed it.

“That’s right,” I grinned and tugged her chin to look up at me, desire flickering around her gorgeous face, “and I’ll always keep you satisfied.”

Someone shouted from downstairs, and we both stilled to listen.

“Who’s that?” She flipped the blanket off, but I pulled them back over her, reluctantly slipping free from her.

“Stay here.” I whipped out of bed and snatched my watch off the nightstand. It was only three in the morning. I tugged on my pants and t-shirt and snagged my phone from its charger. I squinted at the bright screen to read a missed message from my buddy Rowe.

Rowe: I wanted to let you know I’m now officially a law enforcement officer for the City of Redstone. Hill’s been talking to people about you and Brown. We should meet.

“Fuck,” I muttered as I closed the door behind me. I’d love to have one day where Hill didn’t prey on my mind.

Again, someone’s voice hissed loudly from downstairs, and I pushed aside my own demons to find out what the hell was going on. I took the stairs two at a time and found Keith in the dark in the dining room staring at his phone. The light from the kitchen just allowed me to make him out, and as I opened my mouth to talk to him, I heard Frank’s voice.

“Think about what you’re doing, Keith.” Frank’s tone told me he was treading carefully.

“I told you. I’ve been here before.” Keith’s shoulders were rigid as I came into view of the two of them. They didn’t move or look at me.

“But never to this extent.” Frank stood by the sliding glass doors with a suitcase in his hand. My bet was he never expected to find Keith up at this hour. “You’re talking Elio Capri here. Don’t forget the Capris are mafia, too, no matter how you look at it. I’m just saying think about it, Keith. If you open that door, there could be repercussions for the team.”

Elio Capri. The Italian mafia boss. Savannah had told me about him. I shook off the bad feeling that came with the mention of anything mafia.

“Any!” Keith shot out of his chair and slammed his fist into the table. “Any of my brothers would call the devil if they thought it would help to get their children’s mother back!”

“And I would, too.” Frank lifted his hands in a gesture of understanding and for the first time acknowledged my presence. “Just give me twelve more hours, and—”

“No.”

“Keith, you need—”

“I had to listen to my son sob on the phone tonight because he thinks he’s the reason his mother left.” He swallowed hard. “He begged me to bring her home to him, but I can’t because some savage took her and more than likely has already thrown her body into a river somewhere!”

“What about Mike?” I stepped into his view, and his murderous expression swung over to me. “I don’t mean to overstep, but awhile back Mike told me about his friend, that motorcycle dude. Didn’t he help you once before? Can we use that guy? Maybe start there before you call him.” I pointed to his phone.

“I already called Trigger.” Keith’s shoulders sagged. “He’s dealing with a situation in Vegas. I’m waiting on a call back.”

Frank closed his eyes and cursed under his breath. “Look,” he huffed, and I could hear the stress in his voice, “I can’t hear this. I know nothing. Good God, Keith, who else are you planning to share this with?” Before Keith could answer, Frank threw up his hands to stop any comeback. “You know I’m doing everything I can to find Lexi. At least, please, for God’s sake, wait for Trigger before you contact someone you might forever be in debt to.”
