Oh, Shit.

Grim

The small sound she made caused the corner of my lip to twitch. Was she scared? Staying where I was, I tucked my hands casually back into my pants pockets. I was aware it emphasized what I had to offer a woman.

“Yes, I remember we’ve met,” I drawled casually as I kept my gaze locked on the gorgeous bombshell in front of me. Yes, I’m the one who killed a man in front of you last night. I also knew full well who she was. I’d never forget the heated conversation I’d had with one of her friends in the hotel spa years back when Kenna walked in on us.

“Yes, I do believe the last time I saw you, you were giving my potential client a private tour of the sauna room. Evidently, it wasn’t an enjoyable tour for her. I lost that client because of your lack of,” she paused, “communication skills.” She rolled her eyes but smiled at my father.

“I see there’s a story there.” Dad muffled a chuckle. “Well, nevertheless, Grim is back and will be handling things here at Indulge and at his new hotel, Secrets. I’m sure you’ll be running into each other a lot?—”

“Aren’t I lucky?” She dripped with sarcasm.

“You are.” I shot back and made her glare at me.

“Grim will be on his best behavior.” My father eyed me, and I raised a brow.

“I make no promises.” I didn’t break eye contact with her.

“No need to worry. My clients are all men.” She smiled wide. “Have at it.”

I shot her a look to be careful with her tone, but she dismissed it. When I looked at most people that way, they immediately backed down, but she showed no sign of that. I forced my temper back.

“I see you have a mouth.”

“Yes, and this mouth has helped get your hotel some very high paying guests.” Her phone vibrated in her hand, and she glanced at the message. “Point to make my case.” She turned her phone around to show me the caller ID. “It seems Mr. Dean needs me,” she said to my father. “Do you mind?” She failed to address me.

“Not at all.” Dad smiled at her. I noticed she flinched slightly when she pressed the phone to her cheek. She may have hidden the bruise with makeup, but the swelling was still evident. The tips of her fingers grazed over it as she switched hands with her phone but dropped when she caught my stare.

“Could you please hold for a moment?” She spoke in an even tone then lowered the phone and looked at me with a cool expression. “Was there anything further?”

“I do believe we still have something to discuss.” I pointed to my cheek in reference to last night.

“I’m afraid I have no idea what you mean.”

“It’s fine, Kenna. Please attend to Mr. Dean.” My father pointed toward the door for her to leave.

I leaned against the conference table. “I’m looking forward to seeing you around, Kenna.”

“Trust me, the pleasure is all yours,” she tossed over her shoulder, and I took in her tight-as- hell dress that instantly intrigued me and pissed me off as she disappeared out the door.

“Careful, son. Every damn owner in the United States wants her. She’s that good.” His voice was low as the door closed behind her. “It took a lot of convincing by her father to get her to work here. She was set to stay in Dubai and work her way up at Buji Al Arab.” He looked at me from behind his reading glasses. The Buji Al Arab was one of the top hotels in the world, next to us, of course.

“What changed her mind?”

“You’ll have to ask her.”

“She needs to lose the attitude first.”

“It seems to work for her. She’s been here for just under a year and has signed an impressive number of clients already. Not only that, but she poached Yen Hong for us from The Wynn. He lost five million in our casino the first night. She’s on the verge of signing Sonny Conti as well.”

“Seriously?” I scrunched up my face. “Sonny Conti, as in Victor Conti’s son?”

“That would be the one.”

“As in Sonny who nearly shot me in the fucking chest when he was dickin’ around in front of a girl a few years back?” Dad nodded like what I was saying wasn’t a huge red flag. “As in Sonny who did a line of coke, downed a bottle of Fireball, ate a handful of gummies, then proceeded to participate in that monstrous hit behind Circus Circus?”

“Yes.” Dad huffed as though he’d already heard this story ten times. I threw him an incredulous look.
