Rachel snickers. “You guys are so stubborn.”

“How was your night?” Mick ignores the barb and tips her head with an innocent look.

Although it can’t be that innocent, because my stomach is clenching.

“Oh, uh… fine.” Rachel’s cheeks flood with color, and she refuses to look my way.

“You sleep okay?” Mick’s fork taps the plate as she stuffs it full of pancake pieces.

“Yeah. Good. It was a good night.” Now Ray’s head is bobbing too fast.

Mick’s fork stops midair, her lips quirking into a dangerous grin. “Sounded better than good.”

“Excuse me?” Rachel squeaks.

“You’re noisy when you come.” Mick starts to laugh, sharing a delighted grin with Ethan before shoving the pancakes into her mouth.

Rachel eyes bulge, and I swear she’s about to crawl under the table and die of embarrassment.

Ethan snorts, dipping his head and doing the worst job ever at hiding his laugh, while I run my hand down Rachel’s back and lean in to whisper, “Looks like we don’t need to keep this under wraps anymore.”

“Oh my gosh.” Rachel covers her face.

I give in to a soft chuckle, pressing my lips against her cheek and saying so softly that only she can hear, “You can be as loud as you want with me. It’s sexy as hell.”

She swallows, fighting a smile as I pull back and wink at her.

It takes a good five minutes for Mick and Ethan to stop laughing and for Rachel to finally go back to her normal color. I’ve never seen her so red before.

Finally brushing her bangs out of her eyes, she lifts her chin and gives them an imperious look. “You know what? You’re right. I didn’t just have a good night… I had a fucking fantastic one.”

Mikayla gasps, her expression lifting with pride as she raises her hand for a high five.

Rachel slaps her palm.

“My girl!” Mick grins. “Using her naughty words and everything. I’ve never been so proud.”

“Shut up.” Rachel laughs, then dives into her breakfast, taking Mick’s teasing about the reasons for her ravenous hunger like a true pro.

Now I’ve never been so proud.

And holy shit… the way I’m feeling right now… I might never have been this in love either.

CHAPTER 23

RACHEL

Christmas Day was perfect. Mikayla’s dad and family are seriously cool. The food was divine, and the Christmas games they’d organized for the kids were a blast. We all got into them. Watching Ethan and Liam chasing the children and making them squeal with excited laughter made my lady parts dance. Even Mick was affected by it, not that she wanted to admit how sexy two gorgeous men giving pony rides to children is.

Yesterday, Emilia introduced me to the pastry chef at their classiest restaurant, and he let me help him make a batch of crème brûlées. It was the most fun I’d ever had in a kitchen. The guy treated me like I was a valuable asset. He even gave me some tips on how to perfect my chocolate lava cake recipe.

I never want to leave this place. Seriously. It’s the best.

But I’m aware it’s just a bubble, and as a way to ease out of it, Mikayla and I decide to go shopping at the mall in the nearby town.

The boys drive us over there and are planning on heading to the local rink to see if they can score some ice time. They haven’t booked or anything, so it’s a long shot, but worth a try.

As I’m getting out of the car, Liam captures my wrist and tugs me back to his side. His kiss is sweet, his smile enough to make me float.
