Chapter 4
After a sleepless night, thanks in great part to the kiss that had laid him flat, Sadiq was up early and eager to see Abby again. That kiss had been everything a kiss should be, slow at first and then so hot it could have torched his clothes off. Hell he wished he could have taken it further, laid her out on his big bed and peeled her clothes off until she was naked before him. Then he would have liked to taste every single inch of her athletic body until she arched her back and screamed his name. Then he would start all over again, not stopping until their bodies were connected in search of ecstasy.
But the time wasn’t right. For one thing Abby still had no clue of his real identity and for another, he still wasn’t quite sure where he stood with her. She liked him and cared about him, of that much he was certain. But he wanted more and he had to be sure she did too, before she found out who he really was.
With more determination than anyone should have this early in the morning, Sadiq strode to the door and pulled it open.
“Oh thank goodness! I wasn’t sure how I’d knock with all this booty.”
He smiled. “Did you just say booty?”
Her smile widened. “I did. Like pirate’s booty?”
She was so adorable and she had no clue. “I thought I was picking you up to take you to breakfast?”
Her cheeks stained a furious shade of pink and she nodded, nibbling on that bottom lip tantalizingly. “I know but after that kiss last night I didn’t sleep all that well and I was up early. So,” she lifted up her ‘booty’ with a nervous smile, “I thought I’d get us breakfast.”
With a pleased smile he grabbed some of her goodies and nodded for her to follow him inside his bungalow. “Smells delicious.”
“How about another one of those kisses to say ‘good morning’?”
He turned to find her face covered in a cheeky grin and quickly pulled her into his arms. “Sounds good to me,” he said against her smiling lips, letting his tongue slip inside her warm mouth, tasting and teasing for long moments until her fingers curled around the dark curls now brushing his collar. She pressed against him and he held her close, kissing her until he was breathless and she clung to him like he meant something to her. Sadiq pulled back with a satisfied smile. “Much better.”
Abby nodded, fingers brushing against her kiss swollen lips. “Definitely. Let’s eat outside before we…yeah, let’s just eat outside.”
Sadiq chuckled and followed her out, carrying what she couldn’t and setting up on the small table facing the water. They dug into the delicious and refreshing food silently for several moments before he broke the silence. “How about a change in plans for today?”
“What do you have in mind?” Those green eyes darkened, telling him exactly what she was thinking.
“I want to have an adventure with you today. See you laughing and having a great time like you did on our first day together.” He’d been intoxicated by her that day and every day since, but now he wanted them to experience something together.
“I’m in.”
His dark brows dipped low. “You don’t want to know what it is?”
She swallowed the last bite of crab omelet. “Of course I do, but I’m still in Sadiq. I want to have an adventure with you too.”
At the smile she shot his way Sadiq knew he’d never stood a chance when it came to Abby. She was a breath of fresh air, a slice of sunshine on a cloudy day. Unable to resist he leaned over and pressed a kiss to her mouth. “Good. Because I was thinking we could go zip lining.”
Eyes wide, mouth open even wider she froze and then squealed. Hopping from her chair to his lap she dotted his face with kisses between excited squeals. “Oh my gosh, yes! Yes, yes, yes!”
“So that’s a yes?”
“Yes! Come on, they have miles of it and I need to change.” She took a few steps away and stopped. “You coming? There may be a few kisses while I decide what to wear. Which bikini to wear,” she added seductively.
Sadiq stood, grabbed her hand and dragged her behind him to her bungalow. “Why didn’t you say so?”
The sound of her sweet laughter carried on the water and between the bungalows before wrapping around him, squeezing him tight.
An hour later they were standing on the wooden platform in the middle of the jungle, that steamy topless kiss still making his lips tingle as he watched two young men strap her into the harness. Abby was all smiles and nerves as they tightened the straps on the harness and connected her to the line. “This is so crazy. Ah!” She screamed, tilting her head back and closing her eyes as though she was already flying through the air.
He laughed at her exuberance. “We haven’t even started yet.”
“Haven’t you heard, Sadiq? Half the fun is in the anticipation.”
Her voice pitched low and husky, sending a shot of heat straight to his groin. He understood what she was saying and in most instances he would agree. Right now though, anticipation was going to kill him. Clearing his throat, Sadiq sent her a longing look. “In that case I’m having so much fun.”
She laughed and stood at the edge of the platform and seconds later she was off. Flying through the air, screaming and laughing. It was the most beautiful sound he had ever heard, and Sadiq took his position at the line beside her and pushed off.
