Chastity bites her lip. “He needs help, Xander, not jail.”

Typical Chastity. Her soft heart always wants to help. Fury at what could’ve happened to her still fuels me, so I find it hard to agree.

I cup her face carefully and look into her emerald eyes. “No more bathroom breaks without me. I could’ve lost you.”

A soft laugh leaves her. “I love you, you precious man, but I draw the line at peeing in front of you.” She claps a hand over her mouth as she realizes what she’s said. “I didn’t mean…”

“I fucking hope you meant it because I love you too, Firecracker.”

Her eyes widen. “I… You do? But?—”

“Yeah, I know. It’s quick. It’s crazy.” I grin. “But that doesn’t make it any less true.”

“But what about our jobs? The tour…”

“We’ll work it out,” I say confidently. “Now, let’s get you checked out. Head injuries can be dangerous.”

Chastity looks a little dazed. “You’re right. I think I have a concussion because I’m sure you told me you loved me. Can you say it again so I’m sure it was real?”

I kiss her and smile against her mouth. “I love you, Chastity Harper.”

She sighs. “And I love you. Thank you for being my bodyguard.”

I smirk. “Firecracker, guarding your body is my greatest pleasure.”

Epilogue - Xander

Three Months Later—Las Vegas

It’s the last show out of Las Vegas, and Chastity and I are staying at The Venetian. I picked her up from the airport this morning after two weeks apart. Not gonna lie, those two weeks were fucking torture without her. I never knew I could miss someone so much. Her smile. Her enthusiasm for life. Her delectable body.

It hasn’t been easy making time for each other, but Chastity spoke to her boss, and she agreed to Chastity condensing her workload. I know she found it hard returning to work after our time in Denver and all that happened with Mark.

Her boss and work colleagues were shocked when they heard about Mark. They didn’t even know Chastity had a stalker, so it was a huge surprise. But they’ve all been supportive, as have Chastity’s Soul Obsession friends.

Mark was arrested and charged with harassment causing fear of violence. Chastity gave a statement to the cops, and Mark could be facing a ten-year jail sentence at worst or a hefty fine at best. It’s not his first offense, which doesn’t help his case. Chastity may have to appear in court, which she’s dreading, but we’ll get through it together.

Her soft heart doesn’t want to see Mark in jail. She thinks he needs psychological help more than a prison sentence. I disagree—I’m still angry that she was injured, and I think prison will teach Mark a lesson. But Mark’s mom and step-sister Lacey rely on him for income, so it’s not that simple. It’s the only black spot hanging over Chastity and me in our relationship, and we’ll both be glad when things are resolved, one way or another.

In the meantime, condensing her hours has freed up Chastity’s time to join me for a few days on each stage of Soul Obsession’s tour: Phoenix, Houston, Atlanta, New Orleans, Washington DC, and the latest stop here in Las Vegas.

Being with the woman I love and experiencing everything through her eyes has been amazing and priceless. If I thought I loved her after a few days together in Denver, it’s nothing to what I feel for her now. I’m fucking crazy about her.

We plan to enjoy a few days absorbing all Vegas has to offer, and the bonus is that Chastity gets to see her friend, Dani, who lives in Vegas, at tonight’s concert.

“What’s all this?” I hear Chastity ask as she emerges from the bathroom into our palatial suite.

Hair and body wrapped in a towel, she follows the trail of rose petals through the bedroom and into the dining room, where I’m waiting. Her mouth drops open. The dining table is set up with an array of food and candles everywhere.

“What’s all this?” she repeats.

A smile tugs at my mouth as I approach her. “Happy three-month anniversary, Firecracker.” I pull her in for a hard kiss.

“No wonder you rushed me into the shower, you devious man,” she says breathlessly when I pull back. “Usually, you can’t wait to get my panties off the second we’re through the hotel door after being apart. I was worried when that didn’t happen today.”

I frown. “Worried?”

She lowers her eyes and mumbles, “Yeah. Thought you were going off me.”
