Page 26 of Grey's Rage

Aunt Marsha was the second to hit me and snatched my palm from Ellen.

Grey grinned as I looked around and realised the clubhouse had been prepared for a party. There were banners everywhere with the words, ‘Congrats on your engagement,’ and a huge cake standing in the middle of a long row of food tables. Penny and Phoe had been busy as they were laden with food.

Grey stepped back as the women swarmed me, and he was greeted by the brothers. At first, I kept a wary eye on them and finally relaxed when Drake got Grey in a headlock and ruffled his hair.

The kids were running around screaming, and the noise from them alone was deafening.

“We have gifts!” Phoe yelled, hopping from foot to foot in her excitement.

“Gifts?” I asked, stunned.

“Grey, you haven’t told her!” Artemis chided.

“That was my surprise,” Grey stated, glaring at Artemis, who shrugged. “We got the house, baby, I put in an offer, and it was accepted,” he said in a rush before Artemis could spill the beans.

“We did? You did?” I stammered, surprised.

“It’s the home you wanted, and I was going to get it one way or another,” Grey replied.

With a happy squeal that made many wince, I threw my arms around him. I felt like I was going to burst from happiness. Everything was just perfect.

Drake

“You okay?” Slick asked as he monitored his woman. Summer belonged to the old ladies, just like Irish. However, Irish was absent, being on a mission.

“This brother, this is what we wanted,” Drake said.

Drake smirked, watching as Texas stopped, grabbed Penny, dropped a searing kiss on her lips, and headed towards them. Penny looked stunned before she was swept up with the old ladies.

“Still got it,” Texas beamed at them.

“Dude,” Slick replied with a shake of his head.

“What’s up?” Texas asked, sensing something deep in Drake.

“This. This is what we’re fighting to protect. Not just our family but the ideals we have. This shit right here is what Fury and the Fangs want to destroy. I’ll die before I let them,” Drake said.

He gazed around and wondered if his sister, Carmelle, was here. Not finding her, Drake sought out Ghost, and there she was, Ghost hovering over her.

Drake’s lips pursed. Ghost and his sister? Was it more than Ghost being protective because of their shared experiences?

“We won’t let Fury take this,” Texas declared, becoming solemn.

“I’ll die before he destroys what we’ve built,” Drake murmured. His gaze rested on Phoe next and then his multitude of children. It swept around the room, landing on Sin and Jett with their brood. Jett was in Sin’s bad books for knocking her up again, but they were hanging on. Their love for each other was clear, but Sin was still pissed at Jett.

The other night, they’d all cried with laughter when Jett woke up with wire around his balls and Sin about to slam the door to castrate him. Jett’s fear was palpable, but Sin showed no remorse. Who’d have thought the quiet little book store owner would have it in her?

Drake’s eyes landed on Lex, holding his son and heir to a duchy. Fuck him. Rage had noble blood in them now. Vivie stood serenely by Lex, smiling at their baby.

Eddie flew past them, her girl gang in full chase mode. The Hellions, with Dante, stuck to a corner, warned with severe punishments should they mess this up for Willow and Grey.

Drake’s gaze caught Axel, his paralysed leg resting on a stool as Ellen alternatively fussed and then berated him. Axel looked completely happy as his two adopted sons tried to avoid their mother’s fussing, too. Cowboy was edging away, leaving Wild to deal with Ellen as her mouth ran a mile a minute.

“This is what we will die for,” Drake stated.

“Always,” Gunner added from behind them.

“We bled once for Rage. We’ll fucking bleed out for our family,” Manny said.
