“Yesterday, when we played the prank in the kitchen, well not ‘we’ per say. It was Wren, but that’s our little secret. We made a pact not to tell. Can you keep a secret?’”

Piper bit her lip, unsure if she should agree to keep any secrets. “I can, but if someone asks me, I can’t lie. Master Derek said I’m not allowed to lie even if it's for a good reason and I don’t really want to make him mad again.”

“Mad? He wasn’t mad, he was just being a big bossy butthead.” Sadie rolled her eyes.

Piper had to smile at that. “Big bossy butthead, huh?”

Sadie nodded. “The biggest. Since we wouldn’t tell him who dyed the milk, we all have to eat our meals in his office where he can keep an eye on us. We aren’t allowed to talk or anything. It’s so boring. I wish he just woulda spanked us.”

“If it’s a spanking you want, angel, Daddy can certainly oblige.”

Master Derek’s deep voice made Piper jump.

“That’s not what I meant.” Sadie crossed her arms over her chest and pushed her lip out in a pout.

“Mmhmm. Why don’t you run along and see if any of the teachers in the Butterflies or Caterpillars need help getting ready for the day before you get your breakfast?”

“Can I eat it in the cafeteria?”

“Nope,” he replied matter-of-factly.

Sadie sighed and her shoulders slumped as she stood from the bench. “Fiiiiine.”

“What was that?” he asked. The warning in his voice was clear as crystal.

“Yes, Daddy,” Sadie mumbled unhappily.

“There is a spanking in your near future, little girl. I can feel it in my bones. Behave.”

He spoke low and growly and it made Piper’s tummy do a little nervous dance.

“I will,” Sadie said as she got up on her tiptoes and kissed his cheek. She wouldn’t have been able to reach if he hadn’t leaned down a bit.

It was obvious this was a common song and dance for the couple and something about that helped calm Piper a bit. It was kind of beautiful if she thought about it. Master Derek didn’t belittle Sadie or call her names; he wasn’t mean or quick tempered. Piper wished her first Dom had been more like that, then maybe she wouldn’t be so afraid of her own shadow.

“Good morning, Miss Webb.” All of a sudden Sadie was gone and all of the big man’s attention was on her.

She tried to swallow past the lump in her throat, but it was stuck. “Good morning.” She forced the words out.

“Shall we go chat in my office for a few minutes?”

She nodded.

He opened the door with his thumbprint on a security pad and gestured for her to go in ahead of him. She scurried quickly past him before she turned and ran for her room. Taking a second, she looked around the huge office. It felt like her entire house could fit in that space. It was immaculately kept with all of the shining wood. There were bookshelves and filing cabinets, there was an armoire like the one in her room only bigger. There was even a comfortable-looking seating area. The centerpiece though was his large wooden desk. Why anyone needed a desk that large, she didn’t know. Well, until Master Derek sat behind it and it looked like the perfect fit. It just reminded her exactly how big he was.

“Take a seat.” He nodded toward the chairs across from him.

She shook her head. “It’s okay. I’ll stand.”

“You don’t need to be nervous, darlin’. We’re just having a conversation. One that is going to start with an apology from me, actually.”

“An apology from you? Why?”

“Because I should have been clearer about my expectations. You’re new here, and I should have given more explanation so that you knew my exact expectations and didn’t wake up anxious and unsure this morning.”

“How do you know I woke up anxious?”

Derek chuckled. “My first indication was the five a.m. call from one of our service submissives.”
