He laughed softly, “I guess we would have to find out then.” He nudged his already hard shaft slowly inside me, guiding the full length with practiced ease. I saw stars in my vision as my walls tightened to grip this monstrosity. I gasped and squeezed my eyes shut as he thrust into me.

As usual, nothing could prepare me for the power of his thrusts, no matter how little he tried. I squeezed a handful of sheets and allowed myself to drift into blissful semi-consciousness.

I woke up early with a jolt of fear. I turned to my side, feeling a deep sense of dread. I let out a deep breath when I saw Alessia still curled up in bed beside me in a fetal position. I did not notice that I had been holding my breath until I let out the air.

I slumped back in bed, shaking my head. I glanced at Alessia again and touched her cheek. She stirred but remained asleep. I listened to her snoring and closed my eyes to enjoy the beautiful sound even more.

I had passed out the previous night, experiencing nightmares that made little sense the entire night. The outcome of all the nightmares was the same. I woke up, and Alessia was gone, somehow. I woke up, and the whole thing had been a practical joke. It had not really happened, and Alessia had never come back.

I breathed deeply, trying hard to expel the fear. Alessia was here. She was here, and I could feel her. This was real. I was glad that Milan had not been in my head. After she left, I told myself that the attraction and special time we had shared had not really happened, and I had imagined it all.

Last night was proof that it had happened. I remembered how wet she was before I laid a finger on her, how her body trembled when I touched her, and how she subconsciously drifted as I thrust into her. It was déjà vu. The only difference was that we needed to rein ourselves in several times during the night.

It was easy to forget that she was pregnant. Her belly remained unchanged, and her desire was arguably more than mine. The lack of sickness and symptoms made it even less obvious that she was expecting. A part of my mind questioned if this was all a ruse, but I discarded the thought quickly. I could not see a single thing that Alessia stood to benefit by lying about her pregnancy.

The previous day took an unexpected turn for good. I work from home, not wanting to be too far from Alessia if she needs me. One thing led to the other, and we ended up in bed, going at it as gently as we could, yet the passion was unchanged.

We had taken a break to change the sheets and grab some lunch. I stepped out briefly to run errands for my parents, who were coming into town the next day, and immediately rushed back to Alessia.

We spent the rest of the day in each other’s company. Several hours later, after exhausting all the positions we could execute without disturbing our forming baby, we drifted off to sleep in each other’s arms. The last time I had allowed myself to fall asleep beside her, I had woken up to an empty bed. During the night, I considered locking the door and hiding the key. It was not the craziest thing to imagine with Alessia in bed beside me.

I kissed her softly on the forehead, then went down to prepare breakfast before she woke up. I put a pot of coffee to boil and went about making pancakes with sides of bacon and scrambled eggs. Alessia shuffled into the kitchen a little over an hour later. Her hair was a tangled mess. Her appearance was so disheveled that I giggled.

She looked herself up and down, then shot me a nasty look as she walked to the pot of coffee. “Yeah, have a field day. It’s not like I brought my entire closet down from Paris. I wasn’t planning to stay this long.”

I looked at her curiously. “We should go shopping today. Get you some more clothes and, uh, essentials.” Alessia rolled her eyes dramatically and sat at the counter with a steaming mug of coffee. “I’m serious!” I protested.

“Fine,” she said as I placed a plate before her. “That would be nice, thanks.”

“Sure.” I settled beside her. “You know, we haven’t really been on a date before…”

“Sure we have!” she countered.

I raised a finger. “Lunch together at the hotel restaurant doesn’t count as a date.”

“It doesn’t?”

It was my time to roll my eyes. “So, what do you say? We will go shopping for you, and then we will see New York City. Come on, it will be fun.”

“Fine,” she replied. “Can I eat now?”

I smiled, then snapped my fingers as I remembered something I planned to talk to her about. “My parents are in town by noon. Would you like to meet them?” I looked at her expectantly.

“Sure… I guess?” Alessia said hesitantly. “I mean, if you’re fine with that. Do they know about me?”

I rubbed my neck, feeling slightly embarrassed. “They kinda know all about you.”

“Kinda?”

I laughed. “Fine. I may have told them about our time together.”

“Why do I have a feeling that they know exactly everything that happened between us?” She laughed pleasantly.

“Fine! I told them every detail from the moment we ran into each other outside the elevator to the moment you turned up outside this door to inform me I was about to become a father. There! It’s out there now.”
