“I have missed you,” she said silently. Her voice sounded like sin, sweet and deadly. “I want you to take me like the first time.” She rubbed her belly. “Think you can manage that?”

I chuckled. “I can try. Nothing too crazy, though. I do not want us harming our baby.”

I set her to the side and took my clothes off, trying to control my urges. She got back on top of me, and I put my arms around her. She gripped my shaft gently, sending sparks flying through my brain. I jerked from the sudden contact. It felt like weeks since I had gotten sexual ministrations, although it had just been a few days.

She guided me expertly into her, the wetness between her legs sending me berserk. Alessia let out a long, satisfied groan as I slid myself to the hilt inside her. She started making slow, circular motions with her hips that drove me wild. I squeezed her buttocks gently, rotating my hip in synchronization with her motions.

I had to squeeze my eyes shut to remain sane, my hardness now gliding effortlessly through her wetness. She increased her speed suddenly, with reckless abandon, and I struggled to keep up. I tried to remind her about the baby, but Alessia had other ideas. She gripped my neck, then rocked forward and backward with unbelievable agility.

I gripped the sheets as an orgasm came roaring out of me. Alessia kept going, her eyes barely visible in the sockets. She hunted her orgasm like a predator and let out a shrill scream when she found it. She went limp almost immediately and collapsed on the bed beside me.

We lay in silence, catching our breaths. I turned to Alessia and placed a hand on her belly. “I don’t think it is healthy for pregnant women to do what you just did…” I said, still struggling for air.

“Oh please,” Alessia said, her condition not much better than mine. “The baby will be just fine, I hope?”

I gave her a shocked look, and she laughed. “I’m joking, jeez,” she said. “I was extra careful. Look, we can visit a doctor tomorrow if that makes you feel better?”

I laughed and drew her in. She made me feel so alive, and in that moment, all I wanted was to spend the rest of my life with her. It occurred to me that there was nothing more I wanted. I looked into Alessia’s eyes. “Marry me, Alessia. Make me the happiest man in the world.”

Alessia looked at me mischievously, then laughed. “Only if you ask me properly, with a ring. Think you can manage that?”

I laughed and kissed her softly. “Deal.”

Alessia

Michael asked me to marry him in the most unconventional way possible. I loved that about him. On the outside, he looked like a rigid, unapproachable man. When you got to know him, you realized he was not much different from his brother, Thale. He was just as funny, goofy, and spontaneous.

Until the moment he asked me to be his wife, I had not allowed myself to think about what the future held for the both of us. While I wanted nothing more than to be his partner, he had never hinted at wanting a long-term commitment. I took some ownership of that, seeing how I had never shown him I wanted anything long-term with me.

I always felt he agreed to keep the child and co-parent with me out of a sense of responsibility and a code of honor. It was not until he told me he loved me at my apartment that I allowed myself to process what we shared. It allowed me to hope for more. However, I knew how busy he was, and I did not know how I could cope, especially with a child on the way.

When he called his father and stepped down from the role of CEO, hope rekindled in my heart. I felt gratitude to Enzo for putting him on the spot and encouraging him to make a decision that I was positive was not the easiest to make. He pushed himself unbelievably, pursuing success for an already successful empire. While it was an attractive trait in a man, it was a hard fact to come to terms with as a new mother.

I joked about his proposal, but the lighthearted humor was a way to deflect Michael from seeing the terror in my eyes. He sprung the question on me so suddenly that I felt a cold shiver ravage my entire body. No, he did not exactly ask. He told me to be his wife. There was so much command and desire in how he said it, and I wished the ground would swallow me up - at least that way, I could escape the moment.

Watching him asleep beside me, I felt a sense of pride. I had made the right decision and was excited about what the future held. Deep down, I wished the confrontation had never happened between him and my brother. However, I had to admit that it was absolutely necessary if we were to have a prayer of peace and closure in the future.

I listened to Michael snore in his sleep. He looked completely at peace with the world, with no worries in his mind. I had never felt that way before. It always felt like I had a noose hanging over my head, waiting for me to make the wrong move. Watching him, I knew it was possible to attain peace. With all the turmoil I had faced, some measure of it did not seem farfetched.

I drifted off to sleep, listening to the rhythmic sounds of Michael’s exhausted snores. I snuggled close to him, allowing the darkness to swallow me. I woke up in the morning and found I was alone in bed. The day was bright already, and I assumed Michael had started his day already. I put on a shirt and left the room to look for him. I could smell the aroma of an English breakfast from the stairs. Typical Michael, tries to fix every situation with some food, I thought with a small laugh.

I poked my head into the kitchen and saw that Michael had made enough food to feed an entire army. I cleared my throat enthusiastically, and he turned around, grinning from ear to ear.

“Nice of you to join us in the living's world,” he said, turning back to whatever he was doing on the kitchen counter. “You are just in time. I am almost finished.”

“Michael,” I said, failing to keep my confusion away from my voice. “Are we expecting guests?"

“No, we are not.” He did not bother looking up from the bowl he was mixing in. “You have refused to eat all week. Well, I figured that now Enzo and Mr. Lombardi know about us, your stomach is open for food again. Plus, how else would you like us to celebrate our coming wedding?”

I shook my head, laughing quietly. I took a slice of bacon from the table and settled into one of the tall kitchen chairs. Michael came over with a creamy cup of coffee and kissed me softly before he placed the steaming mug before me.

“Did you sleep well?” he asked.

“You know I did,” I replied, shooing him away. “I think this is entirely too much food, though.” I looked around the table, wondering what he planned to do with the excess food.

“Really?” he asked casually. “Would you like to bet against yourself?” He laughed and turned back to his cooking.
