“You alright, boss?”

I glanced at Elliott, shrugging.“Thought I saw someone I knew. Let’s go.”

Moments later, we found ourselves in the boardroom.

Alexander West paced the room like a man possessed, his eyes darkening when they landed on me.“I wasn’t sure you were coming, Reign.”His voice dripped with sarcasm, his bulk twisting beneath his frame.

“I’m here, AJ,” I replied tersely, turning to introduce Elliott, but AJ interrupted me.

“Assistants aren’t needed for the primary discussion; he can wait in the room opposite with my assistant, Elizabeth.”

Wow.

“That’s not how I run my business, I’m afraid. This is Elliott; if you don’t mind, he can sit with us. There’s plenty of seats here.”

AJ narrowed his eyes.“Fine. I’ll get Elizabeth.”

Elliott and I exchanged looks as AJ barked out his assistant's name without waiting for her.

Poor kid.

Probably some young girl trying to work her way up in the cutthroat business world and was landed with this prick.

“Elizabeth, take notes,” AJ muttered, shifting the papers on his desk.

Then in walked the woman from the canteen, and I recognised her as the one my buddies had been nonstop talking about, the one with a boyfriend.

The one they’d finger fucked into oblivion.

Instantly my dick twitched, and as if she knew, she looked up at me.

Jesus.

She was stunning, of that there was no doubt. But it was something else in the way she licked her lips nervously or held her pen.

I wanted those fingers around my dick.

“So this is my proposal. We can get you a couple of thousand to try and see how the sales go. But you won’t find better. They’re the best in the market, and that’s guaranteed.”

I tore my eyes away from Elizabeth, ignoring the aching in my pants.Studying the proposal, my eyes skimmed the design until I nodded slowly. “A trial could work. But Mathias is a family company, AJ. You know we value how you run your business.”

AJ clenched his jaw. “Look at my profits and losses sheet. It speaks for itself,” he said with a smug grin.

“I’m quite sure it does,” I muttered, still checking the design.

All I could think about was the beauty sitting less than six feet away.“How long have you worked here, Elizabeth?” I murmured without moving my eyes from the pages in my hands.

“Oh, um—”

“You’re not here to chat up my employees, Reign,” AJ snapped, glaring at Elizabeth.

I raised a brow at him.“I’m sorry, does she need your permission to talk?” I chuckled, stroking my jaw.

“Apology accepted. So what do you think of those? Happy?”

God, he’s still a prick.
