“One of us will pick you up after work. Have a good day, beautiful.”

I smiled when he watched me leave his car, slipping his sunglasses back on before speeding away.

A weekend with Tye had been exactly what I needed.

I skipped into work, humming as I entered the elevator. It was quiet today, but I didn’t mind.

Hopefully, AJ was ill.

A tattooed hand clamped over the elevator door, making my heart jump in my throat.

“Morning, Elizabeth.”

Holy shit.

Mr West.

“Hello, Sir.”

His cologne entered before he did, and a grey suit with a white shirt showed off his olive skin tone.

God, I hate him so much.

Perfect bastard.

Like he read my mind, he flashed me a perfect Hollywood smile, his gaze travelling down my body as he pressed the button already lit up for our floor.

From across the lobby, I saw Toby waving at us desperately.

“Hold the elevator!”

Mr West cocked an eyebrow, hitting the close door button as Toby slowed, realisation in his eyes.

“Wait for the next one,” Mr West commanded as the doors slid shut smoothly.

Dread unfolded in my stomach as the elevator moved, Mr West watching me from his position near the buttons.

His eyes moved to my legs, and he sighed deeply.

“How was your weekend?”

I swallowed, knowing he didn’t give a fuck. He just wanted to play with me.

“Great, thanks. Yours?”

I hated being on my own with him.

My heart pounded in my chest, as desperate to escape this elevator as I was. A wave of heat swept over me, and I gripped the rail behind me, trying to remain calm.

“It was...interesting.”

I nodded, watching the digital display count the floors as we moved upwards. Please hurry up.

We finally reached our floor, and Mr West waved for me to walk in front of him, and I did, feeling like a baby deer in my heels. The confidence I had before this encounter had left the fucking building. Mr West had it clenched in his fist, along with my salary.

I waved at Michelle, who smiled brightly at me, but just as I walked into my office, Mr West spoke. I gulped, and Michelle winced so subtly that I almost missed it.

“Come to my office, Elizabeth.”
