“And you’re sure about that?” Giordano wasn’t convinced.

“Look, father. I have that situation well in hand. Giuseppe is going to deliver an encrypted laptop to the offending employee within the next day or so. Seppe will ensure that the system is corrected. If the employee fails to do what he needs to do, then I’ll handle it. It’s under control. Besides, I have to take this trip to save my marriage.”

“What do you mean save it? You two just got together,” Giordano pointed out.

Massimo leaned on the conference room chair he’d been standing behind.

“Look, it’s taking longer than expected for Isotta to warm up to the idea that she’s my wife. I operated on automatic pilot like what was understood didn’t have to be explained, and we’ve hit a rough patch,” Massimo explained. “We need time to reset so we don’t completely derail.”

“You must save your marriage,” Giordano agreed. “Because failure to do so would put all of this at risk.”

“Exactly.”

“Rosa, I need your help,” Isotta said as Rosa entered the primary bedroom.

“I was just about to change your linens,” Rosa explained, “But what do you need, ma’am?”

“Massimo wants to take me away for a getaway,” Isotta explained with a slight smile penetrating her lips.

“Oh, wow. That sounds nice,” Rosa beamed. “The linens will have to wait!”

“I have no idea what to take,” Isotta fretted, placing both her hands on the side of her face.

“Well, missy,” Rosa padded over and took Isotta by the hand. “Let’s figure it out together.”

The two ladies made their way into Isotta’s walk-in closet. Rosa took out the designer luggage while Isotta scanned the racks for what to take with her. Isotta’s eyes moved from one row of clothes to the other. She was completely perplexed as to what to take with her. When Rosa reentered the closet, she noticed Isotta hadn’t pulled anything.

“I have an idea,” Rosa began. “Let’s start with the undergarments first and then work our way up.”

“That sounds like a perfectly reasonable plan,” Isotta guffawed. She patted Rosa on the back, thanking her for being so brilliant in a time of crises, and then the ladies got to work.

“How many days are you slated to be gone?” Rosa inquired.

“Hmm,” Isotta hummed. “Three, maybe four? I’m not sure.”

“Then, just to be safe, we’ll pack half a dozen bra and panty combinations.”

“And at least one full-length slip,” Isotta added.

“Good, good,” Rosa agreed. “I’ll pack these items as you start to work on your casual outfits.”

“Okay, casual wear,” Isotta hummed, placing her index finger on her chin as she strolled through the closet. She arrived at the section that held most of her casual clothes and began to comb through the racks in search of the perfect casual outfits. Trying to find the perfect ones was harder than Isotta thought. Initially, she’d pick an ensemble, and then she would see a combination she liked better and return the first. After a few moments, Isotta only had one outfit in her hand.

“When are you leaving again?” Rosa asked.

“When Massimo returns home from work,” Isotta said, inclining herself to Rosa.

“Well, don’t you think we need to get a move on? No dilly-dallying, Ms. Lady. We’ve got to make some decisions and make them quickly.” Rosa smiled.

“Okay, okay,” Isotta laughed. “I’m hurrying.”

“Now, you’ve got five minutes to select your casual outfits,” Rosa instructed. “Five minutes, Mrs. Isotta.”

Her eyes widened as she returned her gaze to the racks. She’d no longer be able to check the rack and replace it as she went casually. Isotta had to make final decisions and make them quickly.

“Okay, I’ve got one outfit. How many do you think I need? Oh my, don’t start counting the five minutes yet. I need answers, Rosa.”

Isotta sounded razzed, and Rosa laughed in response.
