After my divorce, and recovering from the fire, life moved on in the best way possible. Meeting Hartley that night in New York was always destined, as Georgia would say. It renewed my faith I’ve always had in that one little word; fate. At first it was weird to think that I could be happy again and be able to find someone new that I could trust. And that trust has taken a little time to build, but I got there with the help of the amazing woman I found in Hartley.

Every time she enters a room, she lights it up. I’m blown away every time I look at her, and it’s not only her beauty, but the way she holds her own and how she lives her life.

She’s the sparkle in my life I never knew I could have. It feels so different this time around than it did in any other relationship I’ve had. Especially my last, there’s no comparison.

We connect. We fit. I have no reservations when it comes to her.

Project Coyote Run was always my main focus when I moved back to Stoney Creek, and then entered an unexpected twist meeting Hartley. And I’ve never looked back.

Coyote Run has been my special project over this last year, and everyone I hold dear has had a hand in helping me realize my dream. One that I’m going to be sharing with the woman I love and adore.

We’ve been inseparable ever since the night of the fire. Something that still haunts me and will for some time to come. But I also know that Keira has held my attention for too long. It’s time to start a new chapter. We get the keys from the contractor the day we get back from New York.

Tonight, we agreed to get ready separately. It’s mainly my twisted idea to reenact the night we first met. And I’m all for role play.

Hartley even dug out the dress she wore and her grandmother's pearls.

Making love to her this afternoon was a beautiful appetizer to the night I have planned for us. We’re going to do it all, exactly the way we did it a year ago.

Only this time, there’s no sneaking off in the morning and leaving her number in my wallet.

I’ll have her in my arms now and always.

I’m happy when I see Bertram and we share a handshake. As he leads me out to our table on the alfresco, I tell him all about me and Hartley. He smiles, giving me a pat on the back and tells me how happy he is for us. I’m sure he’s seen it all, but it’s thanks to their mix up that we met in the first place.

“Congratulations, sir. I’ll make sure I have the pink Bollinger ready for Miss Chambers’ arrival.” Bertram gives me a knowing smile.

“Thank you, Bert.” I feel giddy, like a boy again.

It’s a shame Lyle isn’t here tonight, though Bert says he’s been training to move up to restaurant manager.

I’m already smiling to myself thinking about that first meeting; Hartley walking up in her sexy dress, the two of us saying the table was ours at the same time. As I glance up, she’s walking toward me. It’s like a siren's call as she approaches.

My eyes graze from her beautiful silky hair, hanging halfway down her back, to her gorgeous face. She’s a vision. I linger for a moment on her impressive rack and hips; her curves always get me in a tailspin. She smiles when she sees me, biting her lip.

I’m hard already. I know I’m not going to last five minutes doing this role play thing.

After they’ve said hello, Bert shows her over to the table and pulls out her chair before I get the chance.

I half stand and she smiles at me.

Bert moves to pour the champagne but she doesn’t take a seat yet.

“Thank you,” I say to him, as he nods with a smile filling our glasses, and leaves us alone.

“I’m sorry, sir, but this is my table,” Hartley says in a throaty voice, blinking at me.

I scan her for an indulgent second, something is different about her, but I can’t place it. She looks stunning and her eyes dazzle with amusement, but there’s a nervousness behind them and I’m unsure of the cause.

I shake my head. “You must be mistaken, sweetheart, I dine here all the time.”

Okay so I didn’t use these exact words when I first met her, but it seems fitting now.

“This is my seven-thirty reservation,” she says, placing a hand on her hip. “I remember booking it.”

I raise an eyebrow. “Care for a drink while they work it out?”
