My brother wholeheartedly laughs. “Now that would be a good label. I can see it now; Tiramisu Moonshine, direct from the bootlegger himself.”

I laugh too. “We need to present this to the family, Brook. Georgia can help with marketing, Beau too. We can create a unique label, something completely different to our current blends, even make it a signature collection.”

He points at me. “I like how your mind works.”

“Keep it on the down-low until we can get a strategy and presentation in place. With the rebranding launch as well as the barn being ready for next spring’s wedding season, this could just be the type of press we need to get the ball rolling and get people talking.”

“I like everything you just said.”

“I mean it, Brook, this is amazing.” I stick my nose back in the glass. It smells rich and hearty. Another six months or so, and it’ll be perfect. “I wasn’t sure what to expect when you said chocolate and coffee, but this is something I think will appeal to all ages.”

“Thanks for the vote of confidence.”

“You always were the ideas man.”

My phone buzzes with a message and I see it’s from Huds, asking me if I want to have drinks at the Moose tonight. It’s then I notice the tie.

“Shit,” I say. “I gotta go.”

“Hot date?” He quips.

I shoot the rest of the bourbon down and hand him the glass. “Better. Meeting with my new lawyer.”

Brooklyn waggles his eyebrows. “I’d be smilin’ as well. She’s a fox.”

Jealousy hits me in the gut, even if it is my brother. “Yeah, well, she’s off limits. I need her to get Keira off my back first and foremost.”

“That thing is still ongoing?”

“You’ve no idea. I’ll fill you in when I get back.” I knew long ago that my soon to be ex may have issues, but I never dreamed she’d pull the stunt she did right before I caught her boning that fuckhead.

“Well, you know where you can find me.”

“Down here, mixing your secret ingredients?”

“You got it.”

I really do feel proud of him, and I think he’s glad at least someone in the family is taking him seriously. We all forget that as much as Brook is aloof and carefree, he also has a big heart and can be sensitive.

I know together we can create a unique marketing plan and with all the ideas I have spinning around in my head, I know we can make this collection work.

I leave him, making my way back up the stairs, my heart feeling a little bit lighter after our conversation.

This business definitely needs to move forward where the ingenuity stakes are concerned, and I think this new idea might just be the saving grace this family needs for a complete reboot.

Hartley

I’m still chuckling after I leave the bakery with Verne waving me off and Georgia-Blue next to me, blowing on her mocha through the spout on her paper cup. I certainly gained an insight into some of the shenanigans that go on in Stoney Creek. Georgia is very likable, funny and smart.

“So, I’m taking it, you're single?” she inquires, walking alongside me.

“Yep. Kinda threw myself into work after my last relationship. I was done with men for a long time.”

“Ugh, tell me about it. But I’m sorry to say, Stoney Creek isn’t exactly a bachelor capital. In fact, women outrank men three to one. As soon as any new guy moves into town, you have to practically bulldoze past Dolly Simpson before she has first dibs at him.”

“Good to know,” I laugh. “Who’s Dolly Simpson?”
