My brain starts to catch up with my body as I walk swiftly toward the elevators. The thinking part needs to give the feeling part a damn good talking-to about the way it reacted to the finger-touching.
That was Elliot, for fuck’s sake. And there is absolutely nothing acceptable about reacting to him like that.
I have to focus on my assigned task, pull this launch together, and transform the nervous, twitchy version of Elliot into the captivating and charming public speaker I’m sure he can be in record time.
The career I’ve waited so long to have depends on it.

Hi Charlotte,
Thank you so much for taking on the big effort to get everything ready for the grand unveiling of the First Byte nonprofit in two weeks. (You knew it was in two weeks, right?)
As requested, here’s a list of the priority issues:
Approve design plans.
Manage the contractors building out the space. (You know it’s in Plainsville, Indiana, right?)
Order desks, chairs, room dividers.
Choose a few kids from the first intake to attend the launch—need to be super engaged and chatty to say how great the place is and how amazing Netto products are.
Write and rehearse your fabulous launch speech, which will wow one and all and set up the project for a bright and brilliant future.
Greta had already started work on some of these. I’ve shared her cloud folder with you.
