His lighthearted tone and the twinkle in his eye make it impossible to resist. Smiling, I carefully climb onto his back. He's strong and steady, easily lifting me up as if I’m as light as a feather. With my legs spread around his muscular back, I bury my face into the crook of his neck.

Aiden always smells amazing, which is strange considering he spends so much time as a wolf. His scent is anything but wolfy though. Instead, there are hints of pine, sandalwood, and sometimes something distinctly like almonds.

I breathe in that wonderful, increasingly familiar scent, exhaling against his skin.

Aiden shivers against me, and heat settles between my legs. Each step jostles me slightly against him, and I have to resist the urge to buck my hips against his back.

God help me. Did he know what he was doing when he suggested this method of transportation? Or am I just becoming a massive perv?

One thing’s certain: it’s going to be a long piggyback ride.

Throughout the entire journey, I try and fail to admire our surroundings. I’m way too focused on how Aiden feels against me. By the time he stops, I’m warm and wet between my legs.

“We’re here.”

He sounds amused, perhaps a little husky as if he can smell my arousal thanks to his wolfy side. Still, he sets me down gently, and I blink, looking around.

Around us, the forest is lush and teeming with life. There, amidst the greenery, is the elusive Silvian's Sage. The sight of it, flourishing in its natural habitat, and the joy of discovering it with Aiden, fills me with an indescribable sense of happiness and contentment. I forget about my arousal as I walk closer to it.

“Wow...” I breathe the word. “Look at this, Aiden.”

The Silvian’s Sage is even more beautiful up close, its leaves a vibrant green that shimmers in the dappled sunlight as I drop to a crouch near it.

"It's incredible."

“It grows in other places, but this is the most plentiful spot.”

I pause for a moment, my eyes scanning the plant with admiration. “Yeah? It's so rare to find it like this, in the wild. We're so lucky to have it growing right here in our forest."

Carefully, I cut a few stems, placing them gently into my pouch. As I do so, Aiden comes up behind me, crouching down and wrapping his strong arms around me. His face nestles into the back of my neck, then moves to my shoulder, a gesture filled with affection and warmth.

He whispers softly, his breath tickling my ear, "’Our forest’,” he echoes. “Does that mean you've decided to stay?"

There's a hopeful note in his voice, a hint of vulnerability that's both endearing and sincere. I turn slightly within the circle of his arms, a smile playing on my lips, my heart swelling with certainty.

The words come surprisingly easily, and I surprise myself with how honest I am. "I can't imagine being anywhere else but here, with you. This forest, this life we're building together... it's where I belong.”

Aiden’s face reflects my own surprise. But it's shortlived, as he quickly leans in, his lips meeting mine. The feel of him, pressing against me, kissing me, is enough to send shivers skittering up my spine.

After a while, I pull back slightly, looking into his eyes. There's a realization, a certainty that blossoms and grows within me, taking root – I want a future with him, a whole life together.

"I want your babies," I find myself saying, the words a true expression of my deep-seated happiness and desire to be a part of his world.

I’ve always had a hard time saying what I want, but being with Aiden makes it easier. He’s encouraged me to tell him exactly what I want.

You should never apologize for voicing what you want. His words.

And I want this, so I say it again. “I really do. I want them; I want a family with you, Aiden.”

His expression melts from stunned to one of cheeky joy as he grins at me.

“That’s good because you’re likely pregnant with them after the last few days.” He places a hand over my flat stomach, nuzzling against my neck. “But...in case you’re not, we should work on that. Diligently.”

His teeth graze the skin of my throat, nipping me there and then kissing it better. My breath hitches.

His hands move over my body, tugging me closer, as if to seal the deal of our softly spoken desires, not unlike vows, spoken here in the sanctity of the forest with only the trees as our witnesses.
