“Come out and let me see,” I playfully demanded. I was hard at the thought of her only feet away, taking her clothes off. My cock pressed against the zipper of my jeans, and I was glad there was no one around to interrupt us.
“It’s…”
“If you say ‘too much’ right now, I’m going to put you across my knee,” I warned, already savoring the idea.
Eve glared at me. “Well! It is too much,” she started and then yelped when I reached out and pulled her from behind thecurtain. She landed across my knee, too stunned to move for a moment, and then wriggled.
“Someone will see!”
“No, they won’t. I sent everyone away,” I murmured, drawing her skirt up her thighs to enjoy the sight of her perfect, rounded ass encased in French lace.
“How’d you send everyone away?”
“It’s not hard. I just bought everything in the store in your size…that gets you at least an hour of privacy,” I grinned.
She twisted around and sat up, her dark eyes wide. “Beckett,” she started.
“Evie.”
“You have to stop spoiling me,” she murmured.
“Oh, Cinderella, I’m just getting started.”
It was only a flesh wound, but I still had to twist Coach’s arm to let me play against New York’s Empire Blades.
I skated out onto the ice a new man. Warming up, I watched the Ice Girls rile the Maine fans up. Eve’s outfit had my number stitched across her back, right where it belonged. Now I just needed that Cinderella ring on her finger, so everyone would know what I already knew in my heart.
Eve Martino was mine, and no one would come between us.
I circled the ice, catching the eye of a spectator in the crowd and waving. Asher was sitting behind Coach Williams, and the two were chatting as they watched the teams warm up. True to my prediction, Coach was over the moon to have Asher transfer back to Hade Harbor. He had to sit out the rest of the season, however. That was fine by me. Chase, the new right wing, had turned out to be alright, in the end. I was getting used to having him and Tyler as teammates.
I glanced up at the box overlooking the rink. My father was up there. We’d been talking more often, and he’d come to see me play tonight. It was slow going, but it was going.
The game started, and I forced myself to keep my eyes off Eve. I had to concentrate. Sure, we weren’t going to win this season, but that didn’t mean we couldn’t go down fighting.
There were plenty more seasons to win. For the first time that I could remember, I was looking forward to all of them. Hope was addictive, and I was hooked. A light piercing through the endless night. It was more than I’d ever imagined for myself.
The Blades’ forward was making for the goal. I intercepted, knocking him off course, and the puck shot out between us and into Cayden’s path. He charged down the ice in the opposite direction. I didn’t have to check to know he’d scored. The cheer that went up from the green-and-black half of the crowd was confirmation enough.
Back in play, Chase had the puck, and I blocked a hefty wing from slamming him into the boards, taking the hit myself. My breath left my chest, and my side ached. I shook it off. Jefferies’ little knife had barely made it through my padding. It wasn’t going to stop me.
Chase scored, putting the Hellions two up in the first five minutes of the game.
“That’s what I’m talking about!” Chase Williams shouted from the coach’s bench, turning to give Asher a fist bump.
It felt damn good to have all four Ice Gods in the same rink again. Now, we were going to rule the school and dominate the ice. I couldn’t fucking wait.
I would be there for all of it, with my girl at my side. I couldn’t keep my eyes off her when I was sent to the penalty box later.
“So, it’s like that?” Chase was staring at me.
We were both on the bench at the same time. He liked to play dirty, and I appreciated that about him. I did, too.
“What’s like what?” I wondered.
“You and her. It’s more than fucking?”
I gave him a glare that made him chuckle. “Sayfuckingin reference to her one more time, and I swear, you won’t walk out of this stadium. You might never walk again.”
