“I know, but I was hoping you’d be willing to fuck me again.”

He knew damn well what that slight whiny tone and the look in those smoldering eyes did to me. “You keep your eyes on the road, Tomás Banner, and don’t you dare try to distract me when I’m driving.”

“I’m just saying… You could’ve been balls deep inside me right now.”

I shook my head, laughing. “Oh, keep going like that, and there will be no fucking at all tonight.”

“Really? You’d deny yourself to make a point?”

“I’m a parent, baby. We excel at denying ourselves for a higher cause.”

He let out a dramatic sigh. “Okay. I’ll behave.”

“Thank you.”

As soon as Tiago opened the door, he pulled me into a fierce hug. “Thank you, thank you, thank you,” he whispered. “Thank you for loving him and seeing how amazing he is.”

I smiled as I hugged him back. “Not something to thank me for, but you’re welcome.”

Cas and I watched as Tomás and Tiago embraced, their arms around each other and their cheeks pressed together. Mumbled words in Portuguese were spoken, too soft for me to make out. For all his complaining, Tomás was now overjoyed to see Tiago and celebrate this new step together.

“That’s beautiful.” Cas put a hand on my shoulder. “They needed that.”

“They did. Come on, let’s give them some privacy.”

Just like Tomás wouldn’t come between me and my memories of Samuel, I would never attempt to step between him and his twin. Anyone could see how special their bond was, and I understood they needed time together as well.

It took a few minutes for the twins to come back, and when they did, both had red-rimmed eyes. Tiago hugged me again. “Welcome to our family, querido.”

“Obrigado.”

He quirked an eyebrow. “Learning Portuguese?”

“I may have started that back in tenth grade,” I said, and that elicited an “aww” from Tiago and Cas.

Tomás wrapped his arm around me. “I’d be happy to teach you all the dirty words, meu amor.”

“I bet you would be.”

“It’s a hard language,” Cas said. “I signed up for a course through an app when Tiago and I started dating, but I haven’t made much progress yet.”

“Maybe because Tiago hasn’t used the right incentives.” Tomás waggled his eyebrows at me suggestively. “I’m sure that with a proper reward, you could make amazing progress.”

I laughed. “I like how you think.”

Cas pouted. “You never offered me that,” he said to Tiago, who rolled his eyes.

“I’ve clearly been remiss.”

“I know how you can make it up to me.” Cas whispered something in Tiago’s ear, and Tiago’s eyes lit up.

“I’ll hold you to that, querido.”

“Your eyes are the same.” Three heads turned toward me. “Sorry, just an observation. I told Tomás I’m always surprised when people can’t tell you apart because, to me, you’re not that similar. But your eyes are the same. The way you looked at Cas just now, that’s…”

Oh. I swallowed.

“That’s the same way I look at you,” Tomás finished softly.
