“It’ll be okay, Jezzie, I promise,” Leraie said trying to soothe her frayed emotions, but it came out through gritted teeth and mutterings about asshole brothers.

“Don’t worry about it, Jez. I have it on good authority that he can be a bit of a dumbass sometimes.” Tana winked. “He’ll figure it out eventually. And then he’s going to have to kick his own ass, if someone doesn’t kick it for him first.”

But Jezzie wasn’t listening. She barely noticed Tana walking toward Leraie, and while what Lucifer had done and said had registered like a whip to the chest—her body recoiling and flinching away from the barb-like sting of his words and blatant disregard, even though she knew at some later point in time his words and actions would have a visceral, and overwhelmingly hurtful impact upon her—she found her awareness solely and completely focused on two of the men who stood before her.

The others faded into the background. The men from her dreams had her rooted to the spot. All she could think was that they were both real and standing before her. What should she do? What should she say? Should she call Nithe home, or was it too much, too soon? Of course, she’d known one of them was real, she’d cursed and lamented her encounter with him as many times as she’d fantasized and dreamed of him naked and aroused. The guy from the alley, the Shadow Hound of Hell. But the other one, she thought maybe she’d conjured him from her dreams, that he was little more than a figment of her overactive imagination. Maybe they both were, and they weren’t really there at all. Nithe had seen them too, but what if he’d just shared her dreams all along and none of it had been real?

Her back collided with the stone wall. She’d moved without conscious thought, the cold, rough mineral abrading her mostly bare shoulders as her body seemed to seek a way to disappear into it. Was she really this weak? This pathetic? Oh, how Balthazar would laugh if he saw her now. Pulling herself up slightly she squared her shoulders and took a tentative step forward.

The guy from the alley glanced away from her and over to her rainbow man, but Mr Mohawk didn’t take his eyes off her, and she felt her mixed emotions bubble toward the surface, threatening to bring her to her knees.

In the space of a heart beat she was wrapped in warm strong arms, the spiced scent of male enveloping her senses and his heartbeat close to her ear. Her breathing settled and the tears which had threatened to spill receded, replaced with an awareness that they were really here.

Mr dark and broody slowly joined them, touching her hair as if it were some precious thing, this chest rising and falling as they all breathed each other in.

Jezzie, a stór? All okay? I can feel your turmoil. Please tell me you aren’t watching that movie again. I thought I’d deleted it thoroughly this time. I don’t get why you’d wanna put yourself through that again.

Her heart stuttered.

I’m okay. Lucifer was here, but I don’t think he knows who I am yet.

Are you sure you’re okay? Was he as much of a prick as your tone suggests?

Yeah, he was kind of a dick, but that’s not the biggest surprise.

Shit! There’s more?

Yeah, our dream guys were with him, and I don’t know what to do.

Need me to come home early? I’ll be there in five minutes if you say the word. On the flip side, I’ll stay away for an extra day if you want a chance to feel them out and get to know them.

You’d do that? Stay away a little longer, and be okay with me and them, and what will probably happen if they don’t turn out to be major assholes?

My love, we already know how this will play out. All three of us are yours. I’ve accepted it, they may have too, and while I know the shock hasn’t yet worn off, you want this too. Get to know them, be with them, bond them if it feels right. I’m only a thought away, and I’ll be back as soon as you are ready, or I can’t take it anymore and need to see you, whichever happens first.

Jezzie chuckled, I love you, mo shíorghrá.

I love you too, a stór. Though, I do have a small request . . . block me out if you don’t want me to come rushing back too early. I’m not sure I could take all the desire and not want to come back and ravish you or watch them ravish you. But if those boys fuck up I’ll snack on their nut sacks, and not in a nice way.

Jezzie’s breath hitched in her chest and desire pooled between her legs. A horny and protective Nithe was a whole ‘nother level of sexy.

Eventually, she gently stepped forward and noticed they were all but alone. Only Leraie remained.

“I sent Tana to bed, she needs more rest. The others I forcibly returned home. You have three days, Jezzie, before I return. The oath still stands. You will always be welcome here and in the future can come back should you and Nithe choose to leave when I return, though it may be awhile. Roth, Athon, I suggest you make the best of your time here. Not only will the dragon destroy you should you hurt her, but I’ll help him.” Leraie’s smile as she replied bordered on psychotic.

And then, she too, was gone, leaving them standing alone together in the empty stone room.

Chapter 35

Sometime later Jezzie had taken the guys to the sitting room and went to the kitchen for drinks, only to be bailed up by Tana with a mountain of questions, which had rained down so suddenly and so fast she’d almost fallen on her ass. She’d answered as many as she could, looked at Tana with a raised brow at the ones she couldn’t, and waited for the interrogation to slow to a halt. Meaning, Tana’s throat had gone dry, and she’d needed to gulp down some water, giving Jezzie a small opportunity to ask some questions herself.

Questions like, did Uncle Micah know they were here? Could she introduce her as her cousin, or would that be breaking the oath because of connecting dots? What should she do? And, did Tana need a chill pill? The last one had her giggling at Tana’s affronted look.

“Leraie took me to see Dad. He’s not allowed to see them, and they can’t know he’s here. And let me tell you, J Bear, he’s pissed beyond pissed. A level of pissed I haven’t seen since the princes found me. It was a little scary. I’m pretty sure he could give Lucifer a run for his money right now. As for introducing me as your cousin, let’s go find out,” Tana offered, tossing a wink full of sass over her shoulder as she’d grabbed the drinks tray and sashayed away to meet Jezzie’s new special ‘friends’.

The answer had been no. As soon as Jezzie had opened her mouth to call Tana her cousin her throat had seized up. She’d looked at Tana who shook her head with a wry smile. So much for dropping hints for later on.

A day had passed since Leraie had left with the promise of returning in three days, and she’d learned a lot. Not everything, but it was a start. Plus, did anyone ever really know everything about anyone else?
