Athon’s thighs pushed more firmly against hers, straddling Roth’s legs like hers. His hard cock rubbed against her ass and back as he pressed it into her.

“Um, guys? I’m still here . . .” came Tana’s amused voice. “You guys might be okay with an audience, but I really don’t want to see my C—Jezzie doing . . . well, that,” she added, flapping her hands at them when they pulled apart and looked at her, her nose crinkled in disgust.

But Jezzie saw the envy and sadness hidden in her gaze, caught the whirling emotions as they swept through the air between them, and instantly felt terrible. She knew Tana didn’t begrudge Jezzie her happiness with Nithe, or what may happen with Roth and Athon, but knowing her current situation and the display they’d just made so quickly brought a flush of embarrassment to Jezzie’s cheeks. Jezzie shifted and Athon stood and moved to sit beside Roth as she moved from his lap to a free space on the couch. Only for the guys to pull her back into her previous position on their laps.

“Don’t you dare feel bad, J Bear. If it was someone other than you getting it on in front of me, I’d probably be totally down for the show . . . but, ick, you know?” Tana scrunched up her whole face like she’d smelled dog shit on the carpet.

Realization dawned as an image of having to watch Tana dry hump any of the princes implanted itself in her head and she started to gag. Yep, ick just about covered it. Tana busted out laughing as Roth and Athon looked confused by their cryptic conversation.

“You could have just left the room, you know,” Roth sulked, grumpily.

“You could have moved to an empty room, you know. I’m on bed rest, well, couch rest, right now, and I’m pretty comfy right where I am . . . in my own home,” Tana retorted. “Plus, it’s not even nighttime yet, I’m sure you can wait a bit longer to get Jezzie alone in her room.”

“Tana?” Athon gently asked.

“Yeah, Athon?”

“You know sex can be had at any time of the day or night, right? Lights on or off? Under the covers or on the kitchen counter? Even outside? Maybe not here, cos’ monsters, but in safer settings, yeah?”

He wasn’t trying to be cruel or sarcastic, Jezzie could tell, he just wanted to feel her out and help her. Luckily, Tana was easy-going with those she liked, and she’d instantly decided Athon was her new big brother, Roth not so much, not yet, so no offense was taken, and while her face flushed with the innocence of an inexperienced maiden, she laughed and gave him the finger.

“Oh, my gosh!” Tana exclaimed. “You know what we should do?”

“What? Find the nearest bedroom and leave you slobbing on the couch alone for a few hours? I agree. Let’s go guys.” Athon laughed at Tana’s faux pout.

“No, silly. We should go hunting! Wouldn’t that be fun, Jezzie? I think so. I really need to get out of here, and you could use a top up since you used so much extra energy helping me with that spell.”

“So, you’re a witch?” Roth asked Tana, suspicion creeping into his voice and causing Jezzie to stiffen.

“Fuck,” Athon muttered under his breath as he squeezed her thigh.

“And what if I were?” Tana said, a protective kind of aggression cut like a knife through her tone.

“Well then?—”

Jezzie mentally turtled into herself ready for the blow, knowing she’d have to turn and fight if the wrong words escaped his lips. Athon shifted and Roth groaned as his head moved suddenly forward.

“Then nothing. I think it’s actually pretty cool,” Athon filled the void as Roth rubbed the back of his head with his free hand.

“Good answer, Athon. A prime example of why you’re my current favorite. But as you have already deduced, and thickie over there has yet to realize, no I am not a witch. In addition to being all kinds of badass awesome, Jezzie is part witch. A first generation, learned witch. Very rare, or so I’m told,” Tana added proudly.

Roth stiffened behind her. What would he say? What would he do? Would he renounce her? Witches more often than not had been dealt a bum rap throughout history, thanks to a few bad eggs and the machinations and superstitions of others. Not just on Earth, but everywhere, it would seem. Witches, for the most part, were actually pretty awesome.

As with every species you had the good, the bad, and the in between. Mages, on the other hand, tended mostly to the self-serving, aggrandizing stereotype of greed and toxic masculinity. Witches stayed away from them for the most part, mainly due to them holding higher social standing within the OtherRealm hierarchy. The original negative narrative about witches was started by a long since dead mage, who upon realizing witches—the females of the species—were much more powerful, and altruistic than mages. Not to mention rather less inclined to kowtow to the bullshit expectation placed on them by the self-described superior gender the mages liked to think they were.

“Did you hear me, Jez?” Roth asked, pulling her from her off-topic ruminations.

“Huh?” was all she could think to respond, knowing she’d drifted off into her own thoughts.

“What kind of witch are you, Jezzie?” he repeated.

“The good kind, of course, you giant dumbass. Plus, it’s a very recent discovery, so don’t be a dick,” Tana jumped in and answered for her, making her chuckle.

“Well, I’ve not met one of those in a long time. I’m sorry I reacted so poorly. The last witch we encountered has been sending us rather threatening missives and gifts, so to speak. We encountered her while looking for you, or someone we thought was you. It’s all a bit confusing now, though, since we found you, and you’re clearly not her,” Roth rambled.

“Don’t mind Azaroth, he’s a bit out of practice with women,” Athon said cheekily as he winked.

“Bad experiences tend to have that effect,” Roth added snarkily, looking sharply at Athon before adding, “Sorry, I have trust issues, big ones. I just hope that the you we get to know here, is the you you really are.”
