I let myself fall into the energy of the dance. On the pole, no one could touch me.

Awareness prickled up my spine and I opened my eyes to see Luca at the back of the crowd, waving sweetly to me once I noticed him. I could work with that.

I swung around the pole, lifting myself into an inversion, hanging by my thighs, letting my barely-there dress glide down and over my head where I caught it with my fingertips and tossed it aside. I still had on the matching bra and panties, but they would be gone soon enough.

I kept my feet on the ground for a while. Spins got just as much attention as the more difficult tricks, so I might as well save a little energy. I felt Luca’s gaze on me like a brand. It didn’t make me perform better, per se, but I definitely made a lot more eye contact with the crowd with him standing there.

The air was thick with alpha scent, and I lowered myself off the stage to sweep through the crowd, tracing fingertips over the alphas in my path until I reached Luca, giving him a wink and touch, then diverted back toward the stage. The quiet gasps as I kicked myself up into a handstand to return to my original spot had me smiling to myself. They might say they liked a softer omega in the back room, but displays of strength always got them riled up. Honestly, I thought a lot of the patrons here were fooling themselves about wanting power. They wanted the performers to have the control; that was why they came here instead of another club that didn’t protect their people.

I glanced up at the board that none of the audience could see, patron bids pouring in. One of my regulars was going above and beyond. I noticed him in the crowd and I crooked my finger to usher him forward. He stood at the side of the stage, watching me with that same besotted look Walter had for Auggie. I grabbed his tie like a leash and set my heeled foot on his shoulder, doing a body roll for the crowd before kicking my leg over his head to spin, tugging the tie so he kissed my ass while I threw an audacious wink at the rest of the crowd before leaping up onto the pole.

Luca’s gaze was hotter now. I wasn’t sure if it was watching me play with the others or watching me exert my power that did it for him, but either way he was in luck.

By the time I was completely stripped down, minus my shoes, I was itching to drag Luca backstage. It worked to the benefit of the audience because I wasn’t usually turned on by performing for them, but they would be able to catch the scent easily. I always enjoyed performing and reveled in their admiration, but that was a different thing entirely to having a chosen lover watch me do this.

I took my final pose and the house lights went completely dark. I disappeared behind the curtains before they were raised again and found Auggie bringing Luca right to me. I hopped straight into his arms, ignoring that other performers were milling about and I was completely naked.

“What are you doing here?”

“I thought I would come see you before I went to work.” His fingers flexed against my skin, his pupils blown wide, both telltale signs of his desire, not that I needed either to know he wanted me.

The other performers took notice of his presence, a crowd gathering. I slipped back down to my feet.

Questions bounced from a handful of the performers that were on tonight, and Auggie pushed them to a more comfortable distance.

“Yes, he’s my boyfriend,” I said. “No, you can’t have him. He does have siblings that are equally cute, but they are both mated. I got the last one in the family and he’s mine.”

Laughter rolled through those gathered, and the ones who had been trying to press close took a more respectful step back. Auggie shooed them away until it was just the three of us, with random others casting interested looks toward us.

“I didn’t think Arthur would let you in,” I commented.

“Auggie brought me in,” Luca said. “Apparently I’m on some kind of white list because Arthur likes me?”

“It’s true.” Auggie beamed. “Anyone who protects our girl is a house favorite.”

I snuggled into Luca, belatedly remembering that he’d said he was here before work. “You’re going to smell like spicy omega going to the bakery.”

“I brought a change of clothes. And I picked up some de-scenting spray. I figured even if I didn’t get to see you, being anywhere in the building would stick to my clothes.”

I laughed, squeezing him tighter. “You’re not wrong.”

“Did you want to check your options for tonight?” Auggie asked.

“Options?” Luca’s head tilted curiously.

“Bids for the back room,” I explained.

His fingers twitched against me, but he didn’t say anything. Auggie passed me the work tablet and I tapped in my code, scrolling to see what the top offer was for the night. The patrons couldn’t see what other people bid, but they were told if they were outbid so they had a chance to beef up their offering.

Luca’s eyes went wide at the numbers. “Twelve grand? For the whole night?”

“For an hour.”

“Holy shit. I feel like I’m stealing from you,” Luca said with a laugh.

“Don’t ever think that. There’s a difference between taking a client who pays and sleeping with you because I want you. And twelve grand isn’t my usual rate, but they know I’m offering fewer slots so they’re starting to fight over me.”

“Are you going to take it?”
