I distracted myself with cleaning and texting Luna between tasks.

I caught her right before she went for a nap
What if the pack she’s with is secretly terrible?
Luca:
Don’t put that worry in my head :(
I’ll be going over with my fam this weekend to meet everyone
Jasper and Gabe seem really nice
Oh!! Jasper gave me his number when I met them a couple weeks ago
I’ll message him and see what’s going on
Luca:
Jasper, hey, how’s Nicky?
Jasper:
She’s safe. Resting right now
Have you talked to her?
Luca:
Just a brief check-in
I know she’s stubborn about accepting help sometimes but if YOU think of anything I can do for her, will you let me know?
Jasper:
Absolutely
I think we’ve got it handled for the moment with all five of us on duty
She’ll be happy to see you this weekend
I huffed, wishing there were something more active for me to do, but Jasper was right. A pack of five could handle anything Nicky needed.
The rest of the week passed like molasses in winter. It was a good thing I had seen Luna before getting that call because I wouldn’t have been able to focus for shit. By the time Sunday rolled around and I was getting ready to head over to see Nicky, I was a ball of nerves.
