I listened to their suggestions, weighing each name for their value within the Stefanidis family, but none of them felt right.

Dimitris pondered for a moment, then added, “While we’re at it, we should also consider key players in the Pappas family. Men like Yiannis Petridis, their main arms dealer. He’s been supplying them with more than just conventional weaponry for ages.”

Andreas quickly followed up, “And let’s not forget about Nikos Argyris, their chief strategist. He’s the brains behind many of their recent territorial expansions. Taking him out could cripple their strategic capabilities.”

I listened intently, each name resonating with the power and influence they held within their respective families. “These are significant names, no doubt, but our response needs to be more than just eliminating key players. We need a show of force that speaks louder than any assassination.”

Dimitris nodded in understanding. “So, we’re looking at a strategy that not only cripples their operations but also sends a clear warning to anyone who might think of crossing us.”

“Exactly,” I affirmed.

“This is about sending a message that resonates within our world. We need to do something that has never been done before,” I replied, my voice contemplative. My mind started to whirl with ideas, and soon, one took the forefront well over anything else.

Dimitris leaned back, his icy blue eyes narrowing in thought. “Nikolaos, while I agree we need a strong response, we must also consider the repercussions. Going too far could ignite the kind of war we’re not prepared for.”

Andreas nodded in agreement. “We must tread carefully. The balance is delicate. We risk everything if we overstep in our response.”

I stood up, feeling the weight of my position. “I understand your concerns, but our hand has already been forced. We will respond in a way that upholds our honor and terrifies our enemies. I will lead this personally. It’s time they remembered why the Kaligaris family name commands respect.”

Dimitris and Andreas exchanged a look, a mix of respect and worry in their eyes. They knew I was set in my decision. I was about to make a move that would redefine the rules of our world, and I was going to ensure it was done my way.

I stood up and paced the room, an idea forming in my head.

“Dimitris, I want you to pay off some dock workers to look the other way. Then, we’ll have a team of scuba divers plant explosives on the hulls of a number of Stefanidis’ ships in port. We take down several at once, so it’s unmistakably a hit. A precise, calculated strike,” I instructed.

Dimitris raised his eyebrows, a hint of admiration flickering in his icy blue eyes. “That’s a bold move, Nikolaos. Are you sure you want to take it to this level?”

I met his gaze squarely. “I am. We hit them where it hurts, Dimitris—their fleet, their lifeline, right in their deep pockets.”

Dimitris leaned back, the corners of his mouth twitching into a wry smile. “I have to admit, that’s pretty badass, Nikolaos. Blowing up their ships will cause a stir they can’t ignore. It’ll be a message loud and clear.”

I allowed myself a small smirk. “It’s just a trifle few million dollars in damage. A small price for them to pay for maintaining our honor and sending a clear message. They need to learn that actions against the Kaligaris family come with a price.”

Dimitris nodded, his expression now one of resolved determination. “Consider it done, Nikolaos.”

“I want this done tonight,” I demanded, my voice resonating with an urgency that left no room for doubt.

Dimitris nodded, a look of grim determination settling over his features.

“Tonight, it is then. I’ll get my best men on it. The dock workers will be paid off, and our divers are already the best in the business. They’ll make sure the job is clean and untraceable,” he said thoughtfully.

Andreas, who had been quietly taking notes, looked up. “I’ll coordinate with our contacts in law enforcement to ensure they’re looking the other way. We can’t afford any slip-ups on this.”

I leaned forward, locking eyes with both of them. “Remember, this isn’t just about revenge; it’s about sending a message. We’re not just another family to be trifled with. I am Nikolaos Kaligaris, and my reach and influence go far beyond what they’ve seen so far.”

Dimitris’s expression hardened. “They’ll realize they’ve awoken a sleeping giant. The Stefanidis and the Pappas families will rue the day they decided to take a shit on the rules of our world.”

I stood up, signaling the end of the meeting. “Good. Keep me updated on every detail. Remember, precision and stealth are key here. We strike hard and fast, and then we vanish into the night.”

Dimitris cleared his throat, and I turned back to him.

“What is it?” I asked.

“What about the Pappas family?”

“They’ll get what’s coming to them. Don’t worry,” I replied, and he nodded once before getting up out of his seat.

As they left to set the plan in motion, I sat back in my chair, contemplating the imminent shockwave this would send through our underworld.
