It felt like we were in our own secluded world, surrounded by the echoes of the past while creating a special moment that was uniquely ours.

It was so romantic that I didn’t know what to say, so I said nothing at all and just beamed.

I think he knew what I was thinking.

Nikolaos gracefully pulled out a chair for me. As I took my seat, a waiter appeared, moving with quiet efficiency. He expertly popped the bottle of champagne, the sound echoing softly in the room, and poured us each a glass. The bubbles danced in the flute, adding to the magical ambiance of the whole thing, and I looked down, blushing a little at how special this all was.

As we settled into the dinner, the first course was presented: a delicate horiatiki, a classic Greek salad, vibrant with fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, and a slab of feta cheese, drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with oregano. It was so fresh and delicious that I moaned from the first bite to the last.

“This is quite the spread,” I remarked playfully as we moved on to the second course, a creamy moussaka, its layers of eggplant, seasoned meat, and béchamel sauce perfectly baked. It was just as decadent as the first course.

Nikolaos smiled, watching me enjoy each bite. “For you, Maci, only the best. I wanted this night to be special.”

By the time we finally reached the main course, a beautifully grilled sea bass, accompanied by lemon and herbs, the conversation flowed just as freely as the champagne.

“You really didn’t hold back, did you?” I teased. “Renting out the entire museum, this exquisite dinner…”

He took my hand across the table, his gaze sincere. “You’re worth every penny it cost to rent out this place. You’re worth the world to me, princess.”

His words made my heart swell with emotion. I couldn’t help but compare the man I’d once thought him to be to the one that was here now.

To the rest of the world, he was a hard man, a figure of authority and strength, who seldom showed any softness. His business exterior was like armor, impenetrable and formidable. Yet, in the privacy of our moments together, he was a different person altogether. With me, he was a loving, caring man who wanted nothing more than to take care of me, to show me a tenderness that he guarded from everyone else, and that made my heart pound with emotion.

“I love you, Maci-girl,” he declared. “From the moment you entered my life, you’ve transformed it in ways I never imagined. You’ve shown me a kind of love and understanding that I thought I’d never find. With you, I’ve found happiness. So with that, I have a question for you?”

“What’s that? I breathed, playing along even as my heart seemingly leapt in my throat.

He stood up and fell to one knee in front of me, and I stopped breathing entirely.

The world seemed to pause as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, elegantly designed velvet box. The Greek name “Zolotas” was embossed on it. I didn’t know the company offhand, but if that was the one Nikolaos had settled on, I knew it would be expensive and absolutely exquisite.

As he opened the box, the ring inside caught the light, sending a cascade of sparkles around the room. The princess-cut diamond was breathtakingly large, its brilliance unmatched. It was set in a simple yet elegant platinum band, the craftsmanship highlighting the stone’s natural beauty.

Then he spoke and the beat of my heart nearly drowned out his words.

“Will you marry me, Maci-girl? Will you be my queen?”

Tears welled up in my eyes. The sheer joy that radiated through me felt like the warmth from the light of the sun.

I didn’t have to think about my answer. I’d known what it had been from the first moment I’d heard about the ring.

“Yes,” I replied, my voice filled with emotion. “Yes, I will marry you. There’s nothing I want more than to stand by your side.”

He slipped the ring on my finger, and then his hand was at the back of my neck, his lips on mine as he devoured me. The taste of champagne and herbs was fresh on his tongue as it tangled with mine.

“Fuck, princess. I was hoping you’d say that,” he breathed, his own breathy disbelief apparent in his voice.

His kissed me again, and it was as if his lips were possessing me, claiming me and owning me all at the same time. His breath became mine, and I lost myself in that kiss.

His hand slid down the length of my torso and cupped my ass.

“You’re mine now, Maci-girl,” he growled, and then his fingers slid into the slit in my dress, brushing against the bare skin of my thigh, and my breath caught in my throat.

“Yours,” I whispered, and then suddenly he lifted me up out of my chair. I wrapped my legs around his waist as he carried me to the window and pressed my back flush up against it, the sight of the Parthenon right behind me.

This was like a dream.

“From now on, this body is mine. These beautiful breasts are mine. Your tight little pussy belongs to me. Your perfect ass. Every bit of you is mine, and I intend to show you exactly what that means with my ring on your finger,” he added. Without another word, he hiked up my dress.
