As a brother, you're basically tying yourself to one woman forever; whether you stay faithful or not is a different matter, but she, as your old lady, is not allowed to stray; if they do, it could mean their life, depending on the brother.

Macho bullshit and hypercritical—yes—do the brothers care—no.

Amber bats her false eyelashes at me, gently running her nail down my bare arm before biting her lip, trying to tuck her short, curled brown hair that's around her face behind her ear, her blue eyes sparkling with lust as she tries to make herself look innocent when half the brothers here know she's anything but.

"Hey Snake, baby, I've missed you."

I give her a nod, continuing my job. I may not be a prospect anymore, but I still do shit like this to prove to my brothers that I'm all in; I also feed them several times a night.

"How's your Momma doing, Amb?" I ask as I place the last bottle in the fridge and remove the crate from the top of the bar before wiping it down.

Her eyes soften towards me, a hint of guilt showing before it's gone. She clears her throat, then stutters, "Tests came-came back c-clear."

I give her a nod as my father comes out of his office, running a hand through his dark blonde hair that's shaved close to his head. His blue eyes shine with pride, seeing me before Amber clears her throat, "Meet me in the toilet in a little while?"

I don't give her the usual nod, knowing she's trying to divert my attention from her Momma, so instead, I raise my brow as more guilt shines through her eyes again, realizing I noticed it a minute ago and that I'm not letting her off. Realization hits me, making me snort while shaking my head, and she clears her throat again, "Snake, please, I-I just..."

I cut her off as I moved from around the bar, "You want my undivided attention, so what better way than to say your momma thinks she has cancer than someone who actually suffered from it?"

Her eyes shine with unshed tears, but I just shake my head and go toward my father, who's nodding me over, ignoring her calling my name, begging me not to leave her, and explaining how she made a mistake. She's acting heartbroken when only yesterday she had Hairy's cock down her throat. Just another thirsty bitch I thought was my friend only wanting the soon-to-be President's patch. My dad whistles loudly as I get to him, and I furrow my brows as he wraps his big arm around my shoulders. Hairy slides up near me, looking confused, while his father, Bullet, grins wide.

"Alright, brothers, today is the day."

The brothers all cheer loudly. My generation still looked confused while the older generation grinned and cheered, which went louder at my father's next words, shocking me.

"HERE'S TO YOUR NEW PRESIDENT, MY SON, SNAKE."

Fuck.

Sarah – Age 17

I give Tate a small smile as he runs his fingers up and down my jumper-covered arm, where I sit on the cream-colored kitchen counter. He presses light kisses against my exposed shoulder as our friend's party and laughs around us as I try not to cringe from his touch. Today is the last day before senior year starts, and Shelby, my 'friend,' is throwing a party at her parents' house. I know what he wants and what we promised each other tonight, but my problem is that he screwed Shelby yesterday. I came around to grab my bag, only to find them mid-screw on her parents' white couch. I didn't make myself known; instead, I grabbed my bag and shrugged. I don't love him, which is why I haven't given him my big V, whereas Shelby, someone I thought was my friend, screws anything with a ding-a-ling between their legs; heck, I've even seen her make out with one of the cheerleaders.

I clear my throat and pull away from Tate, who scowls. His blue eyes narrow as Shelby looks at me with jealousy. I wasn't going to end things yet; I was going to wait until later, when we're alone, to save him some hate because I'm liked in our school, but he has to open his mouth.

"Seriously, Sarah, it's been six months; don't you think it's time for us to, you know, lose our virginities together like you promised tonight?"

I just give him a sweet smile as I move away from him. The people in the kitchen have quietened hearing his words while Shelby's scowl deepens, and I just shrug and state, "But you've already lost yours."

His head rears back in shock while everyone's eyes widen, and I just grin, "I mean, it was Shelby, my so-called friend, that I saw you screwing yesterday on that very white couch in there." I point to the living area as Shelby's face goes white, which does not look good with her bright ginger hair in a high ponytail. The dress she's wearing—bright red—also clashes with her complexion, which does give me some satisfaction.

Tate's face goes red, "Well, if you'd just put out instead of being a prude, then I wouldn't have looked elsewhere yesterday."

People in the kitchen all scowled at his words. I'm the sweet, innocent girl in school, and most kids like me, especially because of who my parents are. Honestly, I am a good girl, and I'm not ashamed of it either. I get good grades and keep to myself, ensuring I am the best daughter and a good role model for my sister. I help people when they need it without judgment or questions, and I'm always nice, but what Tate's just done and my so-called friend proves maybe I'm too nice to some people.

I give another shrug as I grab my phone off the side, sliding it into my jeans pocket as I jump off the counter. "And yet when I went through Shelby's phone that she left next to my clutch yesterday while you were screwing, there's a load of messages between you since a week after we started dating six months ago; now I wasn't going to say anything until later when we were alone, but considering your trying to pressure me while your side piece glares my way when she's supposed to be my friend but is too busy screwing my boyfriend," I shrug, "guess I couldn't keep quiet any longer."

He swallows hard, and I look at my 'friend,' giving her a pointed glare, "You and I are no longer friends. I hope you two will be very happy together, but just remember, Shell, once a cheat, always a cheat; oh, and you are no longer welcome at my grandfather's house in two weeks."

Her face starts to red, and everyone smiles at me before glaring at them, even Tate's best friend, Adam, who quickly hugs me before my phone rings, glares at them. I smile at him as I get my phone out, smiling wider, seeing my dad's name before I answer it.

"Hey, Daddy, I thought you were working tonight?"

My dad is a firefighter, and a damn good one at that. Tate pales upon hearing my words, and I smirk at him. The idiot is terrified of Daddy; his threatening to castrate him if he hurts me has a lot to do with that, too.

My dad clears his throat, "Darling, I need you to get Tate to bring you to the Memorial Hospital; it's Mary."

I sucked in a breath and froze at the panic in his voice, my smile quickly disappearing. My dad's always calm, which means it has to be bad. Adam sees my reaction and quickly rushes over to me as everyone else takes a step forward. Being a firefighter has gained much respect from the townsfolk.
