I don't even have a car because mom let slip a few months back that Jonny was the one who paid half of it. I paid half, too, so I left $8,000 in my account from my savings. That's all I have to live on—unless we can open the doors and get people through them.

Sighing, I grab the phone and bite the bullet, dialing Snake's number. I can't go through Smokey, and I refuse to go through Doc, who is the club's treasurer, not after he called me a patch chaser. I've decided to make him sweat, so Snake it is.

He answers after the third ring.

"Well, it's about time you called me back, darling."

I huff. He's called several times since I left without a word, but Jonny wanted space, so I've given it to him. I haven't given up; I'll keep trying until I get actual proof that he slept with Diamond.

It wouldn't surprise me if he orchestrated that crap to get me to leave, pushing for the space he desperately required.

"I'm not calling about my living situation, Snake."

He growls. "Well, we damn well will be speaking about it. You just up and fucking left, Liv, without a word to anyone, leaving a 20k check with the prospect."

I sigh. "He wanted space, I've given it to him. And surely you should have seen the check coming, Snake. He called me a patch chaser, and I didn't even flipping chase him; he chased me. He bought the bakery without my knowledge; I didn't even know it existed until a day before Crazy One and Two kidnapped me!"

He sighs, again. "We were going to put you in my guest room, until Smokey got his mind together?—"

I cut in, "I would have still been too close to him, and honestly, I don't want to be near him when he says this crap about me. I haven't done anything to deserve this treatment from him. I understand he can't remember, and I can understand him being scared and confused, but don't go calling me shit when there are pictures that show he fucking loved me!"

He growls. "Still loves you, Liv. He's admitted, several times, that his heart and body call for you. It's his mind that's confused."

I shake my head as I watch April give a picture of Jonny and her a kiss, making my heart hurt. She misses him and asks to see him daily, but he wants space. Stupid space.

Ok, I may sound bitter.

"I didn't call to discuss this with you, Snake."

He sighs. "Then why did you call?"

I swallow hard, knowing I need to get my point across so we don't end up arguing again.

"I called because I want to open the club bakery. I need to start hiring people, I need to start ordering the supplies, but I have to go through the club…. I gave Smokey $20,000, which is part rent for when I stayed with him at his house and rent for at least two months of the bakery?—"

Snake cuts me off, "Liv?—"

But I don't let him continue. "I would like to open in two weeks, so I need to know the budget of the club credit card on file, and we need to discuss payments. I know the club is getting a percentage. I know how much I’ll need to pay the employees and pay for supplies, but I need to know how much rent is."

Hopefully, it won't be too much, so I can start saving to move out of Momma's. I don't see Jonny getting his memories back anytime soon, if ever.

My heart cracks a little at the thought.

Maybe I can knock him out again. Perhaps it'll help him remember?

Snake growls, returning me from my idiotic thoughts. "You are not paying rent, Olivia. Yes, you can open in two weeks. You can have unlimited access to the accounts. Just send the receipts to Doc?—"

I cut him off again. "I don't want contact with Doc right now. I'll send the receipts to you, and I will pay rent, or I'll just go find a café hiring bakers, and you can do whatever you want with this bakery."

He growls, and I swear I hear Jonny curse in the background before something smashes. Snake is quiet for a few minutes, I can hear whispering, making my anger build, realizing he's talking to Jonny, who won't speak to me, like a jackass, before his prez agrees to send me a contract. I hang up, feeling Kallie's eyes on me from the corner of the room.

I don't look at her, though, knowing she's looking decomposed now despite Ken letting slip that the club most likely burned her body. I just keep my eyes on my girl, trying to think of ways to jog Jonny's memory.

I blink, placing the cupcakes in the oven before washing the pots. I had to message Snake yesterday because, surprise-surprise, I have had no contract yet. He says it'll be ready tomorrow, but I have warned him that if it isn't, I'll be applying for other jobs. I only heard back from him once after that.

Snake: he didn't sleep with Diamond. don't lose hope.

That was it, and a part of me knew Smokey hadn’t. He wanted space, and that was his way of getting it. Like I said…jackass.
