Her eyes widen and shine like stars as the ones in the sky reflect off them and it makes me chuckle as I flip out my keys and head toward my bike.

“Trust me, you’ll love it.”

I drag my leg over the frame and relish the sense of power at my disposal. This is what I love. Power, speed and freedom. There is no better way to travel and I’m guessing this is a first for the pampered heiress, so I jerk my thumb in her direction.

“Come on, what are you waiting for?”

To her credit, she says nothing and just pulls the helmet over her head and slides on behind me, her arms wrap around my waist, and she presses her face against my back but the way she is clinging on tight tells me how nervous she is.

No words are necessary as I fire up the beast and take off in a haze of exhaust fumes.

I know where I’m going, and I wonder if she’ll pick up on that. As we weave through the traffic, I increase my speed regardless of who hangs off my back.

I love this shit. This sense of freedom. It makes me feel alive and is one of the rare moments of my day I can leave my demons behind.

I have many of them. Clinging to my back, much like Melissa is doing now. They consume me, drag my soul down, and make it dark. I am a lost cause, and she is another example of that and if she knew why I really saved her, she wouldn’t thank me at all.

Rico DeGeneres, as it turns out, is the least of her problems.

I’ve been following her for weeks already. Mapping out her schedule and watching who she meets. I have built up quite the picture of my tempting heiress and her life intrigues me.

She doesn’t appear to have the same aim in life as many of her friends. Preferring to spend time with her family rather than head out on dates. There is no significant man in her life, which is interesting. Girls like Melissa usually have a string of suitors lining up at the door to secure her inheritance.

Not her. Aside from the odd lunch date, or drink with a friend, she leads a very sheltered life and I expect it’s because she is still mourning the death of her useless shit of a father.

I didn’t hold back with my derision for that man. He is a disgrace on every level in my book.

Fathers don’t give up on their kids, or their wives. They fight to the death for them, and I will never change my mind about that.

We soon reach her family mansion and as I calm the beast, the sudden silence is welcoming.

It surprises me that Melissa is still clinging onto me tightly and not sprinting from the bike and tossing the helmet at my feet.

“Are you okay, princess?” I whisper huskily and she says with a muffled reply, “Is it over yet?”

It makes me laugh.

“Not a fan then.”

She pulls back and exhales sharply, and then her light laughter fills the night sky.

“I didn’t say that.”

I turn and love how her eyes sparkle in the moonlight and she looks so pretty as she stares at me with a soft smile.

She is irresistible and doesn’t even realize it and against my better judgment, I lean down and claim her tantalizing lips once more. I could kiss this woman all night and never tire of it and as my hand wraps behind her head, I pull her in deeper and the way she responds tells me she’s loving every second of this as she kisses me back as if this is the last one we will ever share.

Her soft moan against my lips lights a trail to my cock and I’m guessing it is really upset with me tonight.

She pulls away and smiles shyly. “Thank you. I’ve had the best evening.”

“Then you should get out more.” I raise my eyes and she shrugs. “If you say so, but you don’t know the kinds of evenings usually on offer.”

“Let me guess.” I grin. “Pre-dinner drinks with your friends or some guy who turned up to collect you in a fucking sports car with a matching jacket.”

She laughs, her eyes dancing with delight.

“Go on.”
