“Yes.”

“You must travel a lot.”

“I do.”

I am getting nowhere fast and say casually, “Have you ever been to Madeira Island?”

“No.”

I am so frustrated because she is giving me nothing back and I say edgily, “Tell me about Mr. Romanov. Is there anything you think I should know?”

“No.”

She doesn’t even make eye contact, and it’s frustrating as fuck and I try again.

“What about you, Katerina? Do you have a husband, boyfriend, perhaps?”

“No.”

I scrape my brain for something to instill a response but come up blank and resign myself to no conversation at all.

As she works, I admire her effortless skill and when she has finished, she gazes at me critically. I’m not convinced she likes what she sees, but she sighs and says abruptly, “Stand.”

Like a lap dog, I do as she says and jump when she pulls the dressing gown from my body, leaving me naked.

I hate that she casts a critical gaze across my body and peers closer, shaking her head as she lifts a razor from the side.

She drops down in front of me and scrapes it against my bikini line and I have bever been as mortified as I am now.

“Um, it’s okay, I can–”

She interrupts, “Quiet.”

I blink as she stands and grabs a handful of cream from a jar on the side and steps forward, massaging it into my skin with a skill that isn’t lost on me. She presses it into every inch of my skin and doesn’t even spare my modesty as she kneads my breast and ass as she covers me entirely with the most delicious scent.

She steps back and nods as if she approves and then reaches for what appears to be a sheet on a hanger nearby.

“Lift up your arms.”

Her order is curt, and I raise my hands in surrender as she drops the most exquisite piece of fabric I have ever seen down onto my body. It’s like she is pouring cream as it falls around my curves, caressing them, making my skin tingle and coupled with the scents, the oil and the way she has made me look, I feel like a billion dollars.

She finishes it off with a gold rope that is heavy, and I gasp, “Is this actual gold?”

“Of course?” She shakes her head as if she’s dealing with an idiot and then I blink in disbelief as she virtually crowns me with a solid gold wreath that she places around the intricate up do that she has interspersed with diamonds and gold.

“Wow!” I stare at myself in the mirror, and I can’t believe what I’m seeing. I am a goddess. A mirage and I feel incredibly sexy. As if I possess superpowers and could charm Zeus himself and I hate to admit it, but Katerina really knows her stuff.

CHAPTER 53

ADONIS

The island is lit up like a freaking firework. There are flaming torches everywhere and soft music playing out from hidden speakers. I even see a waterfall cascading into the sea and Apollo points out a cross, set on the top of a hill.

“Hosea probably hopes that will absolve his sins.” He growls as he stares at the island with blatant aggression, and I notice the pain in his eyes as he stares at the place he hopes his heart lies.

“What are you thinking?” I ask him, my job to calm him the fuck down and he growls, “That I want to storm that fucking island and rip it apart until I find her.”

I share his wish because the idea of Melissa walking willingly onto its sinful paths makes my heart physically ache.
