“Bresin,” he whispers. She refuses to look at him, pressing her face into my chest. “Please, don’t give up on me. You are one of the only people I have left in this world. Mom and dad are pissed. They told me to stay the fuck away until I got my head out of my ass. All I have is you now, Bres. Please.” He chokes out a sob.
She turns her head to look at him. I can feel the pain radiating from her. "Get yourself clean, then maybe we can talk about it. I want nothing to do with you until then." She pulls herself from my arms and makes her way toward the spare room. She slams the door shut and I hear the click of the lock.
Looking at Ridge, I see a defeated look on his face. I get he's hurting because she just walked away from him, but I also don't blame her. She needs to do what's best for her right now, and I'll stand behind what she decides.
“You’ll keep her safe?” He knows he doesn’t need to ask.
“Always.” I run my hand through my hair as I look up, seeing Ireland standing in the bedroom doorway, eyeliner streaking down her face. She makes her way to Ridge and wraps her arms around his neck, clinging to him tightly. “I’m going to check on Bres. Stay as long as you want.”
I quietly make my way toward the spare room. Softly, I knock on the door. When it swings open, I see her tear-stained face. I wrap an arm around her and pick her up, carrying her back down the hall toward my bedroom. I shut the door behind us and turn the lock.
Right now, I don’t care if I piss Ridge off. All I care about is the girl that is in tears because of the shit that’s gone down, the shit Ridge played a hand in. Laying her on the bed, I lay down next to her and just hold her.
“How could he do this shit?” she sobs.
I close my eyes as I hold her tighter. Kissing her forehead, I try to think of the right thing to say, but nothing comes to me. The truth is, I don’t know. He fucked up big, but that doesn’t change the fact that he loves his sister.
"I don't think he meant to, little girl. He just got in too deep."
She sighs against my chest, my heart breaking a little.
“I love you.” Her voice cracks. I hate seeing her like this. I miss the smart-mouthed little girl who could always tempt me to do shit I knew better than to get involved with. The one that sassed me with every sentence she said.
"I love you, too, babe," I whisper against her lips before I kiss her softly. She closes her eyes, and I do the same.
It didn’t take long for Bresin to fall back to sleep.
Slipping out of bed, I make my way out of the room and head toward my office so I can grab my laptop. I need to see what’s in that video so I know what those fuckers had on her. Grabbing the envelope on the way back to my room, I take a seat on a chair in the corner. I pull one of the flash drives out and shove it into one of the ports.
As soon as the first frame comes on the screen, I know I'm going to kill that little bastard. He filmed her without her knowledge, and I'm going to make sure he pays for it.
I watch as the little prick puts his hands on her. I see red. I know I wasn't her first. I asked her that when I fucked her the first time. Now I wish I could go back and change the past. Change it so I am her one and only, no matter how fucking insane that makes me sound. The jealousy in me is rising, and I hate that I'm so damn powerless to stop it.
At one point in the video, she tries to push him off, but he holds her down. "Fuck," I bark out. I watch him hold her hands down by her head as he starts to move against her body.
When I can’t take anymore, I slam my laptop shut and take a few deep breaths, trying to get myself under control. Nothing helps as my mind races with images of his body on hers.
When a cold hand touches my shoulder, I suck in a breath. I can’t face her when I’m this pissed. I won’t take this shit out on her. It isn’t her fault. She doesn’t deserve it.
“Jagger.” Her voice is almost like a soothing balm. I don’t move from my position, but I do look at her. “You watched it.” She doesn’t say anything else as she grabs my hand and leads me back to the bed.
