“Can we go eat before you two make me lose my fucking appetite?” Shelby griped.

Logan snickered and pulled back from me. “Jealous?”

I smacked his chest. “Stop before she breaks your nose, too.”

He frowned, his brows pulling low over his eyes. Ezra wrapped an arm around Shelby’s shoulders, leading her toward the cafeteria. Logan loved to get on Shelby’s nerves, but she and Ezra were becoming good friends. Logan and I fell into step behind them. “You broke someone’s nose?” Ezra asked her.

She nodded. “Caught Elise cheating on me.”

He grimaced. “What a bitch.”

She snickered. “I knew there was a reason I liked you, Ezra.” She sent a pointed look over Logan’s shoulder. “You should keep better company.”

I laughed quietly. Logan rolled his eyes. “Don’t pretend that you don’t like it,” he taunted.

She feigned gagging as we entered the cafeteria. “You’re going to make me throw up,” she told him.

He flashed her a grin before looking down at me. “Go ahead and head to our table. I’ll grab your food.”

I pressed a kiss to his cheek. “Thanks.” He gently squeezed my hand before dropping it and following Ezra to the line. I followed Shelby to our table. “You bring your own lunch?” I asked her. Normally, she stood in line with them.

She nodded. “Mom made a bomb ass pasta last night.” She pulled a small container out of her backpack and set it on the table.

“Logan kissing me didn’t bother you, did it?” I asked her after a moment. She’d just caught a girl she’d been interested in talking to other girls; I didn’t want to rub salt in her wound.

She laughed and shook her head. “No, Spence. I’m glad you’re happy. I love how much they adore you. I just like to give Logan shit. He’s a good guy to banter with, but don’t ever tell him I said that.”

I smiled at her, my chest loosening now that I knew she wasn’t truly upset. If there was one thing I knew about Shelby, it was that she wouldn’t lie to me. “You’re a really good friend, you know that, right?”

She bumped her shoulder with mine. “You’re a really good friend, too, Spencer. The best friend I’ve ever had, to be honest.” My cheeks colored the tiniest bit, her words unexpectedly warming me.

Logan set my tray in front of me before taking his usual seat. Ezra sat between us like usual, his own food in front of him. Usually, he brought his own lunch, but a couple of weeks ago, he’d started eating what we did. I didn’t know why, but I didn’t ask.

“Y’all coming to the game Friday?” Ezra asked.

I shrugged. I chose to watch the live streams on the TV rather than sit in the bleachers, which Ezra respected. I supported him from home most of the time. The crowds were a lot for me.

Ezra looked over at me. “Will you go to this one, baby? It’s our homecoming game, and I want you there. Preferably wearing my jersey so everyone knows who you belong to.”

My cheeks flushed. “I, uh…” Shit—what was I supposed to say to that? “Okay,” I croaked. I hadn’t been expecting him to want me to wear his jersey, much less be possessive as hell about it. It was hot as fuck, and my dick was in agreement with me.

Logan smirked at me, a knowing look glinting in his eyes. I huffed. Ezra glanced down and then locked eyes with me, licking his lips. My breath hitched in my throat. Why did they always do this to me?

“Want me to take care of that for you?” he asked me.

“Oh, my God,” I hissed, turning to face my plate of food again.

He chuckled and gripped my thigh, giving it a gentle squeeze. Leaning over, he pressed a kiss to the shell of my ear. “Later, then?”

I shoved his hand away, and he cackled before leaning over to kiss Logan. “I think our boy’s embarrassed.”

“Jesus fucking Christ,” I muttered. Shelby couldn’t contain her laughter anymore and began to howl at my expense. “I hate all of you,” I grumbled as I stabbed a green bean a little aggressively.
