Sure, I would have Ezra, but the other half of me would be missing most of the time.

Logan tugged me into his arms, squeezing me to him. “I’ll be down there this weekend,” he assured me. Releasing me, he cupped my face in his hands, his thumbs stroking at the tears that began to roll down my cheeks. “Only a few days, pretty boy.” But even he looked like that pained him.

We hadn’t been apart in months.

I sniffled. “I know,” I croaked. “But I’ve gotten used to having both of you in bed with me and having you around?—”

He silenced me with a soft kiss. I sobbed and clutched his shirt in my hands. “We only have to endure this for a couple of years, pretty boy,” he gently reminded me. “We can make it work. We’ve been through a lot worse than a little separation.”

I nodded and leaned up on my tiptoes to kiss him again. “I love you.”

He smiled at me, though I could see the sadness in his eyes. He hated this just as much as I did. He wasn’t ready to let me and Ezra go all the way to Florida without him. I knew it didn’t sit right with him, but this was life.

And unfortunately, sometimes life fucking sucked.

“I love you, too, Spence.” He brushed his nose with mine. “Go ahead and get in the car.”

He released me, and I trudged to the passenger side of Ezra’s car, slumping in the seat and quietly shutting the door behind me. I watched in the side mirror as Logan and Ezra hugged, squeezing each other. My chest ached at the sight of them as they exchanged a soft tender kiss before releasing each other.

Logan stepped back onto the grass as Ezra slid into the driver’s seat. I sniffled and waved at Logan as Ezra backed out of the driveway. He smiled and waved at me, his other hand shoved into the pockets of his black cargo pants, the chains on them glinting in the sun.

“I’m going to miss him,” I croaked.

Ezra reached over and grabbed my hand in his as the house grew smaller in the rearview mirror, Logan shrinking with it. “I will, too, baby, but we’ve got this. Just a few days, and he’ll be spending the weekend with us.”

I nodded. I knew it was only a few days. But why did a few days feel like forever?

EPILOGUE

Logan

TWO YEARS LATER

My boots squeaked against the dark tile flooring of the dorm building as I walked inside. I waved at Tessa, the resident assistant on duty. It was only six in the morning, but they were so used to me coming here to visit Spencer and Logan that they didn’t even bat an eye at the early hours I showed up anymore.

“You’re here a few days early,” she said, smiling at me. “Those two are exhausted. Finals are kicking everyone’s asses.”

“Finals are hell,” I agreed. I’d just taken my last finals two days ago, and Jaxon and I drove down here yesterday to furnish the apartment I’d gotten. I already had a job secured—had been applying at places in Gainesville, Florida for months until one shop finally took a chance on me. Moving down here while Spencer and Ezra were still in college meant they wouldn’t go home nearly as much—probably just the occasional weekend and holidays—but Jaxon thought this would be good for us.

It would get Spencer and Ezra out of the dorms, where they wouldn’t have to deal with loud parties anymore in the wee hours of the morning, and we would all have the privacy of our own bedrooms again. We probably would never sleep apart, but having our own rooms meant we could have privacy and alone time if we needed it.

And believe me—three bedrooms had not been cheap. But with the money I’d kept from selling my mom’s place and Jaxon covering Spencer’s portion—he’d refused to budge on it—I was able to afford the deposit and first month’s rent. Thankfully, I would be making enough at my job to cover the rest of our expenses. This way, Spencer and Ezra could focus on just graduating college and securing their own futures.

I pressed the button for the elevator, and when the doors slid open, I hit the button for the third floor. The ride up was smooth, and when I stepped out into their hallway, silence met my?—

Oh, someone was snoring. Jesus Christ. I winced. They should probably go see a doctor.

I made my way down the hall to room three-twenty-seven and used my key to unlock the door. The door didn’t make a sound as I eased it open. The room was shrouded in darkness save for a night light plugged in by the sink. Ezra and Spencer were cuddled up on Ezra’s bed, wrapped up in each other. Spencer’s lips were parted the slightest bit, and Ezra had his face buried in Spencer’s hair.

Fuck, I’d missed them. Didn’t matter that I’d just seen them two weeks ago. When I was apart from them, it felt like I was missing limbs or organs. Like part of me was just…empty.

After toeing off my boots by the door, I made my way over to the bed, squeezing in behind Spencer. The bed was tiny as fuck, but I was good at making sure all three of us fit on it.

Spencer jerked awake and looked over his shoulder, his eyes widening. “Logan,” he breathed.

“You’re dreaming, baby,” Ezra mumbled, his words heavily coated with sleep.

Spencer shook him, a sleepy smile tugging at his lips. I grinned back at him. That smile was so goddamn beautiful, my chest ached. But now, I would no longer have to dream of it. I’d have it all the time. “No, Ezra. Logan is really here.”
