Talon said he’d stay by my side, but I felt like I could handle things on my own. His family seemed accepting of our relationship, and I hadn’t caught any disapproving glances.

I pulled out a sketch pad and drew a few things that Marley mentioned, and a few other possibilities.

“I have a feeling the shop will be selling out of your things,” Lori said as she looked over my shoulder at the sketches.

“I’m videotaping my new module tomorrow. I have a feeling the viewers are going to notice your ornaments and want some for themselves. How quickly can you ship them out?”

“That’s not the issue. It’s having enough on hand that are ready to be packaged and shipped.”

“We can help you with shipping if you want to focus on painting,” Lori offered.

“That would be great.” I let the appreciation flow through my body before the doubt crept in. “But we don’t know if anyone will order them.”

Marley raised a brow. “You shouldn’t underestimate the power of my intuition.”

“Remember, she’s a force,” Heath said with his brow raised as he walked by us with the platter of meat and potatoes.

I laughed. “I’m quickly learning not to disregard anything that Marley says.”

Everyone took their seat. Sarah placed a pitcher of water and iced tea at the table, and Heath and Knox brought in the side dishes. I sat next to Talon, remembering what it was like to be here with him when we were teenagers. It was just as loud and rambunctious with a few less people.

When everyone had passed the food and dug in, Lori asked, “Tell me what you’re thinking for the ceremony and reception.”

“Fairies and unicorns,” Addy burst out with.

Sarah patted her hand. “I appreciate your enthusiasm, but we might go with a more muted design. Maybe flowers and hearts?”

Addy’s nose scrunched in distaste. “I guess that’s okay.”

Sarah leaned close and said, “Remember, this is our wedding. We’d love your input, but we may not incorporate your exact ideas.”

“I know,” Addy nodded.

“We’d like to hold the ceremony by the water and the reception in the second barn.” Sarah looked at Ireland before continuing. “I know that’s where Ireland’s first reception was planned—”

“I don’t have any concerns about you holding your reception in the barn, and it’s not bad luck.” Ireland waved her hand. “So, get that idea out of your head. We make our own memories. This farm is ours, and no one can detract from the memories we make here,” Ireland said as Emmett placed an arm around her and pulled her into his side.

“Here, here,” Heath said, holding up his glass of water. Everyone followed suit and said, “To the farm.”

“We’d love to incorporate the hearts that Holly made with red, pink, and white roses.”

“You’re going with the Valentine’s theme, then?” Lori asked.

“Nothing cheesy, but I love hearts and roses,” Sarah said with a smile.

“I want to make the day whatever you envision,” Knox said.

Heath clasped his shoulder. “Smart man. What’s that saying? Happy wife, happy life.”

Everyone chuckled, adding their own anecdotes.

If I thought it would be awkward to be here, I was wrong. Everyone made me feel welcome, and I fit in like nothing had changed.

When things had quieted down, Sarah raised her hand. “There is one thing I’d like, and I hope it’s not going to be an issue. Daphne has become a friend to us, and I’d love to have her pies for the dessert.”

“You’re not going to have a cake?” Lori asked.

Sarah nodded. “We thought about it, and we’d like to have small pies, different flavors… maybe peach, apple, and cherry.”
