“Here you go.” He thrust the soap back at me.

With a sigh, I took the bar from him and faced him. “Now your turn.”

“But I already—”

I pressed my lips to his and walked him back until he bumped against the wall. As expected, he grabbed my arm and arched his back. A moan rolled through him and into me. I kept kissing him, getting better at working my way around his braces. Soon his tension melted away, and I stepped back.

“Now let me wash you.”

I explored his body, so familiar and yet so different from mine. I enjoyed our differences. How slender he was, so easy to coax his body any way I wanted.

And I had another excuse for touching his ass. I worked soap into his body and washed him out.

“Griff.” Scottie pushed at my arm. “Let me out.”

He was a trembling mess. I stood back, chuckling while he dashed out of the shower.

“Be careful. You know how clumsy you are.”

He stuck out his tongue, covering his ass with his hands.

“Don’t be shy,” I teased. “I no longer buy it after last night.”

The door to the bathroom slammed, and I winced. Was he mad? I quickly finished washing, then brushed my teeth. When I entered the bedroom, Scottie was pulling his shirt over his head. His jeans were up but unzipped and unbuttoned. The waistband rode the creamy top of his ass. He wasn’t wearing underwear. No surprise. I’d stuffed the one he’d been wearing last night into my pillowcase.

The scrap of lace was my prize for scoring big last night.

“If you lived here, Scottie, I’d insist on you going naked.”

His head popped through the neckline of the shirt. “Huh?”

“You look good naked.”

He ducked his head. “You don’t have to be nice to me because of last night.”

“I’m always nice to you. I like you.”

I did.

Scottie inhaled sharply. Slowly he raised his head and stared directly at me. “You do?”

“Hmm.” I walked up to him, gripped the material of his shirt, and coaxed him to insert his arm through the hole. “You have to ask after last night?”

“B-b-but last night was just sex. You can’t mean it was more.”

I frowned. “Why can’t I?”

“I…don’t know.” He shifted from foot to foot. “This is bad.”

“Why?”

“B-because you’re you, and I’m me.”

I dropped my hands and took a step back. Heat flared through me. “Because I’m an ex-convict? You hold that against me too? I see.” I walked toward the closet. A slender hand grabbed my wrist. “Let go, Scottie.”

“Not until I clarify what I mean. I wasn’t talking about you having been in prison, Griff.”

“Then what?”
