Fall in love, once again,

This time, let’s let love reign.

I stopped playing the guitar, detached the microphone and walked over to the man who made me believe in a new start, singing,

So here we stand, hand in hand,

Giving love another grand chance.

Falling in love, right from the start.

Forever, will you give me your heart?

I got down on one knee and took out the ring I’d bought while we were vacationing in Europe. The excited chatter and squeals in the room faded as I tuned in to only Troy. “Will you marry me?”

“Maddie—” Troy looked stunned. He nodded, glasses slipping down his nose.

I laughed as he got up, pulled me to my feet, and kissed me. He’d said yes. He’d agreed to marry me. Was I the luckiest son of a bitch ever, or what?
