“Uncle Dean was taken out over betrayal to the family. Yes, your wife is supposed to be your prize, and I would appreciate it if you treated her with the same respect I treat your mother. Having a mistress isn’t ideal, but I am willing to look the other way in this case.”

“Because I’m your son?”

He shakes his head once. “No, Hendrick. Because you love her.”

His words cause my breath to hitch. I sure as shit haven’t told my father that I love Allison, I haven’t even admitted it to myself, let alone him. His eyes don’t leave mine. He’s focused on me as he arches a brow, daring me to deny it.

“I do love her,” I mutter. “But I know I can’t have her.”

“She’s part of our circle since she’s Parker’s family. Another reason why I don’t have a problem with you keeping her as a mistress.”

“But not a wife.”

“Not a wife.”

I almost tell him that all of this sounds great, except I can’t find her. But I don’t, because I’m going to find her, so it is going to be moot soon. Reaching for the envelope, I bring it to my lap and open it.

The first girl is a beautiful redhead. At eighteen she’s too young, and obviously, just at first glance, far too innocent. However, I’m not sure what I expect because I know that all these girls are virgins.

The next one is a brunette, equally gorgeous. But she doesn’t make my cock twitch. The third and final one is twenty-three, a college student, blonde, and I recognize her—Harlow. Slowly, I lift my gaze to meet my father’s.

“How did you get her?” I ask.

His lips twitch into a smirk. “Is that the one?”

“So she’s sacrificing herself for information on her sister?” I ask.

“Do you have any information?” he asks.

Shaking my head, I level him with a gaze. “Only that I fucked the sister. Nothing else.”

“Then it should be a good marriage. She’ll be compliant in hopes of gaining something.”

I want to ask him if that’s how he got and kept Mom but decide against it. I know my father loves my mother. Without a doubt, she is his world. Just like Coleman and Wells with their women.

And Allison.

She cannot be my wife, but she can be my world. And she is.

If I could only find her.

ALLISON

Watching him walk past his condo, I frown. I don’t know where he’s going. I move behind him but stay as far back as I can as he walks down the street. He’s already parked in the parking garage. I don’t know where he’s going, but I’m going to find out.

He moves through the downtown area, city block after city block before he stops and turns. I watch as he takes a few steps forward, reaches out for a door, and tugs it open. Once he’s inside, I hurry toward the building and stare at it.

Siren.

The name is scrawled in pretty, cursive font across the door. No hours, no phone number. I don’t know what it means. I open the door, and when I take a step inside, I am blasted with a very sexy spice scent.

There is a man standing behind a desk.

He arches a brow, then shakes his head. “We have a dress code,” he announces.

“What’s that?”

He presses his lips together, then he looks behind him over his shoulder and lets out a heavy sigh. “Normally, I would turn you away. But you’re beautiful.”
