She watches me for a moment, looking over her shoulder behind her, then swings her attention back to meet mine. “Don’t leave me alone,” she breathes.

Normally, I would likely tell her or someone in her situation to get over it. Compassion isn’t and never has been a Hamilton man's strong suit. She’s secure in my building, probably more secure than anywhere else, but this is the second time she’s been kidnapped, and she’s pregnant.

“I’m going to take you to my mother’s. My dad’s security is as good as mine, but you won’t be alone.” Her lips curve up into a small smile, but it doesn’t reach her eyes. She starts to say something, but I don’t let her finish. Instead, I continue. “My mother would never hurt you. In fact, she’ll probably be happy to have you because she wasn’t excited about me and Harlow anyway.”

“You think?” Allison asks.

“I know. Come on.”

She nods, then takes a step backward, and her eyes focus on mine for a moment. She dips her chin slightly, her eyes still focused on mine as she looks up at me through her lashes. “Okay,” she exhales. “Do I tell your mother the truth?”

I snort as I move closer toward her again, wrapping my fingers around the back of her neck. I tug her against me. Her hands lift between us, and she places her palms on my chest as she tips her head backward, her eyes never leaving mine.

Fuck.

“She knows, sunshine. She knows everything.”

Her eyes widen. I haven’t told her that I read my mother’s notes on her, and I don’t ever plan to either, but I need to make it clear to her that my mom isn’t just a smart-as-fuck psychologist, she’s also got a mother’s intuition and knows all.

“She does,” she breathes.

Dipping my chin, I touch my mouth to hers. “Yeah, sunshine. She does.”

I don’t deepen the kiss because I know I won’t be able to stop if I start.

Tomorrow.

Tomorrow, she will be mine—forever.

So I can wait one more day.

Releasing my hand from the back of her neck, I lace my fingers with hers and tug her behind me. Together, we walk out of the door and head down to the parking lot, hand in hand. We don’t speak. There’s nothing to say. I need to take her to my mother’s, and I need to meet with my father and brothers.

We have a lot to do before tomorrow.

Flicking my gaze between the rearview and the front windshield over and over, I make quick time to my parents’. Instantly, I know that my father isn’t there. He has enough garage space for his car, but he never parks there.

I always tell him his car is going to get fucked with hail or something, but he doesn’t care. He doesn’t want to be stuck anywhere. Even though he has a whole-home generator, it doesn’t fucking matter.

He refuses.

I pull into the driveway, shift the car into Park, and look at Allison. Her knee is bouncing nervously. I smile at the sight. I have missed her in my car, in my life. Sure, I’ve fucked her a few times since we officially ended things, but that’s not the same as having her beside me. I’ve missed this.

“Are you ready?” I ask.

“Not really,” she whispers.

Laughing softly, I reach out and wrap my fingers around her knee, squeezing her there. Her knee stops its massive shaking before she turns her attention away from the house and on to me. Her gaze searches my own, and I smirk.

“Yeah, you are, sunshine. Let’s go so I can get my shit done and marry you.”

“I still can’t believe that,” she murmurs. “I just can’t.”

Releasing my hold on her knee, I chuckle as I wrap my fingers around the side of her neck. She lets out an exhale, then shifts her gaze to me. “Believe it. Believe all of it.”

“Why?” she asks, and I shake my head once, letting out a snort because I just can’t believe she doesn’t realize her worth to me. Though why would she? It’s not like I’ve treated her the way I should have. In fact, I’ve never treated her that way, and that shit changes now.

“Because you were always meant to be my wife. My woman. Mine.”
