Parker.

Parker: Tipsy Taco tonight. Liv, Skye, and Poppy are having a girls’ night. Come out

I stare down at the message, heart still pounding. I shouldn’t go. Juliet might be there, and then what? Seeing her is not going to make things any better. If anything, it’ll only stir up more grief.

King: Don’t think I can. Busy

Parker: Bullshit. Doing what? Crossword puzzles? Watching Wheel of Fortune? C’mon ...

Dude has a point. That wasn’t a very credible lie, especially with my brother. Maybe a night out would be good for me. Get me out of my damn head. If only we weren’t going to the Tipsy Taco. But if I say anything about the location, it’ll tip Parker off and open up a line of questions I want to avoid.

King: Fine. What time?

Parker: Six work?

King: Sure. See you later

Parker: Cool. Taco time!

I shoot Parker a thumbs-up and head to the shower, determined to wash away the remaining traces of Juliet and start the day fresh.

Somehow I’m going to have to figure out how to live in the same world as her and be all right again. A task proving to be way more difficult than anticipated.

Going into town twice in one week isn’t ideal, especially given the circumstances. Yet here I am, shoving through the crowd at the Tipsy Taco, making my way to a booth across from the bar. Parker and Rome are already drinking beers, and Parker’s plowing his way through a basket of chips and salsa. He shoots me a wave, and Rome nods as I slide into the booth beside him.

“What’s up, fellas?” I roll my shoulders, trying to loosen the tension there. I’d like to blame it on hauling hay bales all afternoon, but that’s not the whole story. The fear of running into Juliet again sits heavy on my mind, pressing down on me like a lead blanket. Anxiety hums through me, a low quiver beneath my skin, and I’m jumpy as fuck. I keep my gaze focused on the smooth black tabletop, not daring to let my eyes roam around the crowded restaurant.

“Y’all ready to order?”

My head swivels at the familiar voice, and I’m staring straight into Juliet’s hazel eyes.

Holy hell.

She’s fucking everywhere. There have to be at least ten servers at the Tipsy Taco. How did we end up sitting in her damn section?

She stands stock-still, staring back at me. The tip of her tongue darts out, licking along the seam of her pretty lips.

Lips that have been all over you.

My cock hardens, muscle memory kicking in.

She’s on her knees in the barn, those full pink lips wrapped around my cock. I’m shooting hot cum down her throat, and she swallows every drop.

“King?” Parker waves a hand in front of my face, and I snap out of it, clearing my throat.

“I’ll take a beer. Whatever they’re having.” I gesture at Rome’s green glass bottle, my mouth dry.

“Coming right up.” She spins and sashays over to the bar.

Damn, she still has a fine ass.

“You okay?” Parker kicks me under the table, and I jump, startled.

Scrubbing a hand over my face, I take a long slug of water from the red plastic cup in front of me.

“Yeah. Fine. Why?”

“Well, every time Juliet comes around, you look like you might throw up. You have a thing for her or something?” He drops his voice lower, as if someone’s listening in on our convo. “After everything that went down with the trial and all, she’s not as bad as I thought, you know? Like barely even a Capelli after that move.”
