A million questions ran through my mind, but I kept silent while her beauty filled the room. Her fragrance wrapped around me, and did odd things to my libido. That long, wavy, golden-brown hair fell over her shoulders.

I’d missed that hair, wanted to run my fingers through it and make her gag on my cock repeatedly. Rose-colored lips made me remember the taste of her tongue, and it took extreme effort to remain unmoved as my gaze combed over her.

A body-hugging knee-length white dress fit her immaculately; jewelry accessorized her wrists, ears, and neck. The tattoo of a caterpillar morphing into a butterfly on her arms was covered, and her closed-toe heels still brought her a foot underneath my nose if she were standing before me.

My body ignited with chills, but the questions resurfaced after my initial observation of her presence.

What the fuck was she doing here?

Davide guided her by her arm to stand in front of Dameon. He returned to his spot beside Riccardo, and my focus shifted back to Riccardo. He avoided eye contact with me like the plague—that’s when the pieces began to fall into place.

“I introduce you to Penelope Niccolò,” Riccardo said. “Penelope, say hello to Dameon Lucas, your future.”

The knot in my gut tightened as if my intestines had been tied with rope. Anger rose like bile through my core.

My mind blacked out and I snapped.

It took two long steps, and I was in front of Riccardo.

“Dominic?” he questioned.

I grabbed his shoulders, twisted his body away from mine quickly, and snapped his neck.

Screams filled the room, and I pulled out my gun, lifted it, and fired at Davide, then turned it on Antonio, Rocco, and Milano.

Pow! Pow! Pow!

The chaos brought the attention of the capos beyond the door, and it swung open as I shoved another clip inside my nine-millimeter and lifted it again.

Dominic

“Son…” A hand touched my shoulder. “Dominic.”

I blinked, and my blurred vision refocused.

I was still standing next to my father. Antonio, Rocco, and Milano remained in front of me, while Penelope, Riccardo, and Davide still faced Dameon and Rolando.

“Are you okay?”

I turned my gaze to Dameon, then Penelope, and back to Riccardo. Fortunately for them, I had only imagined their deaths.

“Antonio, take your people and clear the room,” I ordered.

Frowns spread across their faces, and Riccardo shifted, but Antonio, Rocco, and Milano exited the room.

“Mano!”

The door swung open and one of my capos entered. He glanced between me and Dameon, unsure of who’d called him.

“Boss?” he barked.

“Guard the door, and don’t let anyone in or out until I say so.”

He nodded and left the room, standing guard on the other side.

“What is the meaning of this?” Riccardo asked, his voice shaken.
