“Yeah,” I agreed. “I’m hitting the gym with York, but I’ll be back to eat later too.”

I’d been working on finding that balance still. With eating what I wanted while still maintaining my physique. I’d needed to accept the gain of a total of fifteen pounds, finding that if I didn’t let that weight stay on, that I would need to watch every bit of food I ate. Even with the new pounds on, I still had to hit the gym. Which was fine. I loved the gym. I just needed to keep an eye on myself, make sure I wasn’t going overboard. Having someone to go to the gymwithseemed to be the key with that.

Now that I knew I’d had an issue with disordered eating and exercising practices, it was important that I paid attention to those behaviors.

Luckily for me, Siana was happy to eat relatively healthfully most days, making wraps or salads, or even cooking chicken with veg for dinner, then indulging a few nights a week with Eddie’s food.

“We gonna have a full house tonight,” Eddie said.

“Why’s that?” I asked when Kylo shrugged, not sure what he meant either.

“Shady Valley guys will be dropping by for the weekend,” Eddie said. “And way I hear it, Zayn and Daniyal are coming by.”

Zayne was the international arms dealer who had made our jobs a fuckuva lot easier lately. But he never really came to the club.

Daniyal was his right-hand man, someone who pretended not to understand or speak, but always knew exactly what the fuck was going on. Ex special ops of some sort, we all figured.

“That’s… odd,” I said, brows pinched.

“Apparently, the Shady Valley guys are bringing another fancy-ass designer weapon. Remember one of their old ladies over there designs ‘em?” he said, looking at Kylo, who was still trying to remember everyone’s names and connections. “Anyhow, way I hear it, this one is… worth a fuckuva lot. AndZayn wants it in his and Daniyal’s hands as soon as it gets in the state.”

That made more sense, I guess.

“How do you know more about the goings-on than I do lately?” I asked, shaking my head.

“Because you got yourself a sweet little hunnie to spend your free time with,” Eddie said, shrugging. “Speaking of, you gonna put a ring on that sometime soon or what?” he asked.

Maybe, for most couples, six months was too short a time to be thinking about rings and contracts.

That said, we’d been living together since the jump. And our love had only grown each day since.

“I got my plans,” I told him, thinking about the box I had stashed at home, just waiting for the right time to give it to her.

“Better not be a plain-ass diamond,” Eddie said, shaking his head. “Your girl, she loves color.”

That she did.

Which was why her ring had several colors in an intricate antique style setting. It had a band that went with it too, completing the look. She was going to love it. And I was a lot more eager than I could have anticipated to see my ring on her finger all the time.

“I got this,” I told Eddie with a smile.

A few weeks later, I proved those words right.

I had it.

And her.

Heading for forever.

Siana - 1 year

“You’re not breathing,” Sass reminded me as I stood there, looking at my reflection in the intricate mirror, seeing a version of myself I honestly never could have anticipated just a year before.

One in a wedding dress.

About to marry the love of her life.

“Right,” I said, sucking in a greedy breath.
