Ada wasn’t angry at Sadie. This feeling, like almost all her feelings about Sadie, was muted by necessity. Sometimes when they were naked together, Ada let the volume turn up, the rush of colours of the potential of what she could feel mixing and spreading through her body. But she couldn’t sleep beside her and feel that way all the time. She wouldn’t survive it. Ada wondered if Sadie was sleeping now or if she was taking pleasure in another person’s body and if she would laugh with her too.
