“Do what? I am simply introducing my son to his family,” I rasp, taking him in my arms. “Now get out. My mamma wants to meet you,” I tell her honestly. My mother knows all about Ocean and knows I went to get her. She has no idea of the other surprise that is awaiting her.

She looks out the window then back to me. Her lips tremble, along with her voice when she speaks. “Is that your wife?”

I smirk, knowing full well she is talking about my sister. I should tell her the truth about Gianna but for right now, I want her to stew in whatever scenario she has made up in her beautiful little head. “No. It’s my sister. Now move. I won’t ask again.”

Slamming the door, I round the car knowing full well that she will follow. My gaze lands on my mamma. Her eyes drop to my arms. She frowns, shock and disbelief crossing her features before her whole face lights up. She rushes down the steps toward us.

“Oh my God, Nico. Who is this?” The excitement in her voice has me smiling.

“Meet your grandson, Mamma. This is Romeo.” Teary eyes come to mine, a silent question in them. “He is mine, Mamma.Shewas pregnant when she ran,” I confirm.

She gasps, reaching out and taking him from me. “Oh my. He is beautiful.” Her voice is thick with emotion, and I watch as she runs a finger down his face. “Look at you, Nipotini.”

My sister steps up beside us. She glances at me before peering down at my son. “He is adorable, Nic,” she murmurs, taking his little finger in her hand.

Pride fills me as they coo over my son. The adoration that flows from my sister and mamma is palpable and I can’t help but bask in their excitement. As if my body is attuned to hers and knows exactly where she is, I stiffen when I feel her presence behind me.

“Nico?” her soft, unsure voice hits me straight in the chest. My jaw clenches in frustration and not for the first time do I wonder, how the hell this woman - out of all the women on this damn planet - managed to worm herself under my skin. Mamma and Allegra shift their attention to the little liar behind me, studying her curiously. I turn my head to look at her, noticing how a pink hue graces her cheeks and she shifts on her feet nervously.

“You must be Ocean.” Mamma speaks up before I can introduce them.

Ocean flashes her a small smile, nodding. “Yes.”

“I’m Nico’s mamma, Valentina. Come, let’s get you and my grandson settled in.”

“Mamma,” I growl.

She shoots me herI dare you to fight me on thislook. “What? You will treat this girl, the mother of your son, with respect. I don’t care what happened in the past, I will not allow you to show her anything but love and gratitude for bringing this beautiful bundle of joy into our world.”

Irritation surges through me but, no matter what, I will not disrespect my mother. That doesn’t mean I will take note of her words. “Take them to the west wing. Have the staff set Ocean and Romeo up in the room next to mine.”

Mamma nods. “Of course.”

She turns, taking my son with her. Allegra looks to Ocean with a soft, friendly smile. “I’m Allegra, Nico’s sister. Come on. Let’s get you inside.”

Ocean glances at me before her gaze shifts back to my sister. She sucks in a breath as though preparing herself to walk into the lion’s den. Little does she know it is far worse than that. Swallowing, she forces a smile, then follows my sister up the steps. I grin, licking my lips as I watch her heart shaped ass move with every step.

“You look like you want to eat her,” Dante drawls drily, coming up beside me.

I chuckle. “I do. She doesn’t realize what I have in store for her.”

Dante laughs. “God help her,” he says, shaking his head. Slapping me on the shoulder he makes his way up the stairs and inside.

Blowing out a breath I stare at the entrance myTesoroand son just disappeared through, feeling something a lot like contentment. For the first time since she ran, my whole body relaxes.

Though things aren’t good between us, and we have a long way to go, I know with everything in me she is worth it.

By the time I am done with her, she will be a queen worthy of standing by my side. But it won’t be easy. I will make her fight for it, earn her place.

She might hate me, but I can deal with that. I would rather have her hate than not have her at all.

I will never let her go. Not now. Not ever.

The sooner she accepts that… the better.
