“My old boss Callan. He’s the-”
“The billionaire who owns a car shop in Colorado? Didn’t know you guys were still close.” Her brows draw in curiosity and it’s cute as hell how her nose crinkles as well.
“I guess you can say that.” I lean down to kiss her and she stops me by bringing the back of her hand to her mouth.
“Morning breath,” she explains.
“I don’t fucking care.” I take her hand and hold it hostage behind her back while I kiss her anyways. She leans into it a little more before pushing me away softly.
“Who’s Sterling?” she asks as she moves her hands to run over my abs under my t-shirt.
“Oh, getting jealous already?” I joke with her, and she gives me a heart-breaking smile.
“Maybe.” She sticks her bottom lip out at me as she shrugs her shoulders.
I just laugh and bring myself in to kiss her neck.
“Wanna shower with me?” she asks as I trail my kisses down to her collar bone.
“Wow. You wait till after I’ve already showered to ask?” I pull back and smile at her.
“I didn’t know you were such an early bird,” she responds before pushing herself off the counter.
She walks over to start the shower before turning back at me.
I could really get fucking use to this. This domestic shit. Though I know I’d never picture it with anyone else but having her here in my bathroom just solidifies how eager I am to start a future with this girl. Taking all of her days and nights and making them mine. One day she’ll be my wife and I know our life will play out perfectly together.
“Well, I’ll be out in a few I suppose.” She looks at me with pleading eyes, begging me with them, and I just smirk at her.
“I’m gonna go check the mail. I’ll be back,” I tell her before leaving her in the bathroom. “Don’t worry, I won’t stick around to spy on you,” I add, and she calls me an asshole as I leave the room.
A few minutes later, I come back inside from grabbing the mail. There’s all kinds of junk mail that I throw away in the kitchen trash. But then I get to a shimmery envelope at the bottom of the pile addressed to me, from Callan and Sterling. I tear it open and pull out a maroon card with gold detailing.
With it is a little note that simply saysbe my best man?
“What’s that?” Hollis sneaks up behind me, wrapping her arms around me like she did earlier.
She smells like coconut mixed with my body wash and I grin like a fool when I realize that she washed herself with my soap.
“A wedding invitation,” I tell her as I turn the card over in my hand.
“Who’s getting married?” she asks, rubbing a towel through her hair.
My chest feels tight in the greatest fucking way as I watch her towel dry her hair. It’s something so fucking simple and little that most people don’t even think about but I feel so much love for this girl. I’ll never take the little things for granted.
I look back down and stare at the invitation in my hand and my heart thumps excitedly in my chest. Not just because an old friend of mine is getting married, but because it’s a new adventure for me and Hollis as well. Because the start of our new life together begins today.
“Callan and Sterling.” I hand her the invite.
“Oh! That’s exciting. You know I’ve never been to a wedding. My parents got married before they had me.” She shrugs her shoulders and hands the invite back to me.
“Wanna be my plus one?” I say putting it down behind me and grabbing to lift her up to me. I love holding her against me like this.
She drops the towel from her hand and brings her legging-clad legs to grip me around my torso. Both of our shirts bunch up a little as she wraps her arms around my neck and tangles her fingers in my hair.
“To a wedding? That might make thingsofficialofficial, biker boy.” She grins a devilish grin before leaning in to kiss me on my cheek.
“I was hoping things would be officialwaybefore the wedding, Little Moon,” I admit, and I see something swirl in her eyes. It’s fiery and hopeful and I tell myself that I will never let that look leave her gorgeous brown eyes. My body yearns to see her flustered and appreciated every single day and I will do my hardest to make sure I’m the one who does that to her.
