“Yeah,” he says, grinning as he slides an arm around me. “Sure did.”

I lean my head against his shoulder, gazing up at the sky, and say, “You know, I think I have a new favorite color.”

“Yeah, and what’s that?”

“Green,” I say. “Not sage, though, like yours. Green like the color of the grass at our favorite park. The turf at our home field. It’ll always remind me of you.”

“It’s pretty wild, when you think about it.”

“What is?”

“That so many times, you were sitting there just beyond the sidelines, watching me play. But somehow, someway, I kept on missing you.” He presses a kiss to my crown, gulping low in his throat. “Don’t worry, because I see you now, Li. Clear as day.”

“I see you, too. And I love you, Callum, more than anything.”

“I loveyou,” he says. “Always have. Always will.”
