“Stop eye-fucking my sister,” Ledger grumbles, much like I had.

Reed turns back to him. “Again, can’t. It’s not my fault your sister’s too pretty all swollen up with my baby.”

Ledger glares at him. “You want to die, don’t you?”

“If you kill me, my sister will never forgive you.”

“Don’t worry, I’ve got my ways of gettingmy wifeto forgive me. One of which involves me being on my knees with my mouth on —”

Reed clenches his jaw. “Maybe now it’s you who wants to die.”

“Who wants to die?”

Yet another voice joins in and I am going to fucking punch someone.

It’s Reign Davidson, who takes his place beside Reed and leans against the pillar. He plays soccer but not for our team. His team’s down in Florida but he’s visiting with his girlfriend. He also did not go to school with Ledger and Reed, but they all played each other in high school and so they’re friends. Not to mention, he also heard that we were going to hang here tonight and showed up.

“Ledger,” Reed replies.

Reign chuckles. “Why, because he’s bragging about how superior he is that he’s got twins or how he used his big dick to knock up your sister with them?”

“Can you all stop measuring your dicks and fuckthe fuckoff?” I snap.

All three pairs of eyes turn to me.

Fantastic.

“What crawled up your ass?” Reed asks.

“Nothing crawled up —”

“He doesn’t like the bar,” Ledger informs themunhelpfully. “He thinks Con should’ve picked somewhere else.”

“That’s not —”

“Why,” Reign pitches in before moving his gaze to the dance floor, where his girlfriend, Echo, is also dancing with Tempest and Callie and Isadora, “I for one think this bar was the perfect choice.”

I hear two separate appreciative yeses, followed by Reed saying “I completely agree,” as he goes back to watching Callie.

Reign, while watching his girlfriend, adds, “My Bubblegum knows how to move.”

To which Reed says, “Sure, but my Fae’s a ballerina. Nothing beats that.”

Reign shakes his head. “Yeah, but she’s knocked up, man. You gotta admit that kinda puts a strain on things.”

“Are you saying —”

“Shut the fuck up, both of you,” Ledger interjects, “no one moves like my Firefly and she doesn’t need to be a ballerina to do that. No offense to my sister, of course.”

“Well, I take offense on behalf of my wife,” Reed says in a low, threatening voice.

“If you’re itching to take a shot at me, Jackson, you don’t need to bring my sister into it. I’m more than happy to —”

“I’m bouncing,” I declare, even more pissed off than before.

Because they all get to look at who they want while I —

Okay, not thinking about that.
