When we tell my mom about it, she thinks it’s a bad idea. She thinks that I’m making a mistake, that I have goals that I’ve worked for and that me getting married could affect them. I assure her that I know what I’m doing. That for the first time in my life, I’m living and appreciating things rather than hiding or surviving where I take zero risks. That for the first time ever I’m thinking in terms ofalwaysandforever. Riot has words with my mom too and I realize that it’s not just about the wedding but several things. Things they talk about, away from me. Things that Riot won’t tell me no matter how much I ask. All he says is that I’m his now and that I don’t need to worry about anything anymore. He won’t let me. It’s okay though; I’ll crack him one day.
Just before the semi-finals, we invite all our friends and family over to his house and surprise them with a backyard wedding. Only Cami knew beforehand because we did need some help setting things up.

We decided to pick each other’s clothes. He chose a white dress for me with lace in the bodice and along the hem. He knows that dresses kind of make me uncomfortable so he chose something modest but pretty, something that I will cherish forever and maybe one day pass on to Sophie or any other children we have. I chose a gray suit for him because the time I’d spent pining for him from afar, I’d imagine him in those gray suits of his. So given the opportunity, I jumped on it.
I walk down the altar with Sophie because I’m not just marrying her daddy, I’m also making a commitment to her. And when we get to him, he bends down and picks Sophie up and before the minister begins, he whispers in my ear, “Te amaré por siempre.”
I will love you forever.
