“Oh yeah, and why’s that?” I look to Isaac who rolls his eyes with a smile.

“Because he’s almost always on his iPad.” Matt laughs, and the sound just makes me warm up again. “Hey, Isaac, we actually have some homework to do.”

“Blah.” Isaac sticks his tongue out and jumps off the bed. “All right, I’ll be downstairs. Debbie’s cooking spaghetti tonight,” he says without taking his eyes off his console.

“Cool,” Matt answers as his brother walks out. He motions over to the door. “Actually, we should probably go downstairs. It might be …” He purses his lips together while giving me a look. “Safer.”

“For me or for you?”

He cocks an eyebrow up. “Both.”

I feel my cheeks warming up again and have to bite my lip to try and keep the smile from taking over my face.
