“Oscar got a date.”
“Don’t remind me.”
“Greg got one. Even I got a date.”
“Yvette, you could’ve waited till five minutes before it starts tomorrow and still shown up with a date. Any guy would kill to go with you.” I’m not lying. As annoying as she is, that doesn’t mean she isn’t gorgeous, and I’m sure most of the guys in school would have no problem being her date.
“Not any guy.”
I turn around after putting away the ladder and find her staring at me, her arms crossed. “Yeah, well … anyways, I’ve been busy.”
“Whatever.” She flings her hair over her shoulder, turning away. “That just means I can spend more time tomorrow night with my king.” She gives me a flirtatious smile over her shoulder before walking away.
