I slid Star's door open and peeked inside, sighing when I spotted the lump under the covers. He hadn't even moved an inch from the last time I checked this morning. It was already noon, but he was still sleeping.

Dakota and Nico had both told me to let him rest, but how much longer did he need to sleep? We'd only gone out for a few hours yesterday. He couldn't be that tired, could he?

Nico was busy downstairs doing some deep cleaning—and of course, he refused to use his magic—and Dakota had gone over to his parents' place for brunch, which meant I was alone. And extremely bored.

Candy still refused to come anywhere near me, and I could see Moon's smaller body under the covers right alongside Star's. My last painting was drying, and I had no new projects at the moment.

I had no option but to wake Star up. Right? I was perfectly justified.

Leaving the door open, I walked deeper into the room, lifted up one corner of the comforter, and crawled inside. I wouldn't do this with Nico—he was too sweet to bother like this—and definitely not with Dakota—I didn't know him well-enough yet—but I could never resist annoying Star.

Crawling forward, I found Star lying on his side, Moon curled up near his head. Squeezing myself in front of him, I wrapped my arms around his middle, but he didn't react at all.

Pouting, I gave a push, putting him on his back and lying on top of him. "Wake up, Star! I'm bored!"

He grumbled something in his sleep as Moon glared at me, his black pupils taking over his eyes.

Resting my elbows on his chest for maximum effect, I leaned up, hovering my face over his.

"Ow!" he groaned, finally opening his eyes.

"Good morning!" I greeted with a wide grin, and then found myself on the bed beside him, unable to move. The jerk was using his magic to keep me pinned down.

"Let me go, you ass!"

"Lemme sleep," he grunted, and I narrowed my eyes at the ceiling. Biting my lip, I grinned as a fabulous idea crossed my mind.

"What the—Ryk, stop it!" Star gasped out, and I grinned. He sounded much more awake now.

"Ryk, I mean—" His words were cut off by a laugh, and I chuckled as I felt him sit up beside me.

"Stop it!" he gasped out between giggles, now completely awake. Tickling always worked. As reserved as Star usually was, he was extremely susceptible.

"Free me first," I said, and he grumbled between laughs but did as he'd asked.

Sitting up, I stretched my arms above my head and grinned at the red-faced, extremely flustered Star. "Aww, you look wide-awake now."

Waving my hand, I stopped the magic tickling him, and he attacked me instantly, grabbing my wrists and pinning them above my head as he pressed me into the mattress.

"What are you doing?" I demanded with a breathless laugh, and he narrowed his eyes as he stared down at me, his eyes roaming over my face in a way that made me blush. What was he thinking?

"Trying to figure out how to punish you," he answered, and my breath caught in my chest.

"Punish me?" I asked in a breathy voice, and he smirked.

"You know I hate tickling, and you did it anyway. That earns you a punishment, don't you think?" he asked, and all I could do was nod mutely. Where the hell had this side of Star been hiding all this time? And why the heck was it turning me on? I wasn't a prude by any means, and it wasn't like Star and I hadn't done anything before. But it'd always been more of a 'helping each other out' thing between friends than anything like this, whatever this was.

"Good. I'm glad you agree. Ready for your punishment, then?" he asked, that smirk still in place, and I nodded. "Wow. A quiet Ryk. You don't get to see that everyday," he said with a chuckle, then smiled. "Well, here's your punishment: You're gonna be my pillow while I take another nap."

I started nodding, then realized what he'd said.

"Wait, wha—" My voice was cut off as I felt his magic wash over me, and I realized that once again, I couldn't move.

I glared up at Star, and he merely smiled at me before laying his head on my stomach. Unlike before, I was completely immobile this time, and couldn't even use my words to access my magic.

As if that wasn't bad enough, Star fell asleep almost instantly, leaving me not only bored but also unable to do anything about it.

After I'd cursed him out in a hundred different ways, I started feeling tired, and before I knew it, I fell into a light doze.
